Remembering Beignet

Thank all of you for your comforting words yesterday for both Terri and me.  Terri wanted me to let everyone know how much all of the emails and comments meant to her.  She said she would send an email to me to post for everyone within the next few days.

I am going to continue to post for a few days about Beignet and hope all of you will enjoy seeing the additional pictures and videos I received from Terri.  This video was during my second visit with them when they were 9 weeks old.  As you can see, Truffle was relaxing on the left, but Beignet was being a little boy and fighting with my fingers!  He was such a sweetie and will be truly missed!

I talked with Terri last night and she said that she let little Elvis (Zoey's little boy) sleep with Truffle last night so she would be comforted.  Both Truffle and Elvis enjoyed Chloe's milk bar and they were curled up together when Terri woke up.  She said that Elvis would continue to stay with Truffle until she comes to live with me.

Would you like to comment?

  1. Paula how about taking little Elvis home with Truffle?

Sorry to hear about Beignet - Him and his little sister always made me smile when you blogged about about them or I saw them on Facebook...

He was a cute little guy taken far far too soon :(

  4. LCC - I was looking forward to watching them grow up together too, but it wasn't meant to be. Maybe one day in the future, Truffle will have another sibling to play with.

  15. We're wondering if Truffle will be happiest as an only kitty or if you might consider another kitten. But maybe things are as they are meant to be? We don't know.

Sending Light and kitty kisses and hugs to you and Terri.

  18. It's good little Truffle has a buddy to ease her transition.

But you know, I think she will be a happy girl to come home with you to her furever home. You will play with her, bond with her and love her through the transition. She's your girl, for sure.

  24. Oh no we are so sorry about sweet little Beignet. We have been away from checking for a few days and were just shocked to see the news. We are so sad for you and for all her family and are sending tons of comforting purrs and prayers. We know that Sweet Praline will take good care of him up at the bridge, but oh, for such a little baby to go is just heartbreaking.

  25. Lots of purrs to Truffles and to Angel Beignet. And big hugs to you Paula. Glad that Truffles has Elvis to keep her company right now. And Paula, she will have you to keep her company when she gets home with you. Lots of good thoughts coming your way.

  26. Jan is right that clearly Beignet knew only love for his short life. We are so sad for his passing but know that it is always quality of life and not quantity and we know his was full--we just wish he could have had more. Now who will comfort you and Truffle?

  27. Paula, I slept through Wednesday and awoke to this!?!?!
I must say, I have been looking at the Truffle videos, and I personally think she is one special girl! She is full of life and seems to have a wonderful sense of humor. I know you were planning on bringing home 2 fur balls, but I think Truffle is a winner!!

  33. *HUGS* Paula. We are just so happy that Truffle is doing well, and cannot wait for her to come to your home to live with you. Beignet will forever be remembered, and who knows ... maybe later on Terri will have more beautiful kittens that may want to come live with you and Truffle and keep you both company. Never say never. :)
