Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!  Mom Paula didn't have a chance to try and find me a "costume" this year, so we went to Ann of Zoolatry to get one of Zoey's favorite costumes.  I just couldn't turn down the little Devil costume.  I can't wait until Brulee comes to live with us this weekend so I'll have someone to blame everything one.  MOL

Then, along comes Brulee and tries to "out cute" me again by posing as a treat in a Jack-o-Lantern for Halloween.  She is 8 weeks old in this picture.

I hope all of you have a safe Halloween and that you aren't scared by all of those little beans ringing your doorbell all night long.

Easy Like Sunday

Mom Paula said we're going to take it easy today.  She was on the road Tuesday - Saturday this week!

Here's a picture of Brulee at 7 weeks of age taking it easy!

Football Saturday

It's that time again - Football Saturday.  Our South Carolina Gamecocks are playing the University of Tennessee tonight (7:15 pm EST on ESPN2).  We'll be staying at home and watching it on TV together.  Since it is cooler today, I've already got my personal Gamecock blanket ready.

Brulee is 9 weeks old today.  She'll receive her first vaccination this week and is tentatively scheduled to come live with us next Saturday.  Here's a casual picture of Brulee (trying to look cute) at 7 weeks old from Mom Terri's IPad.

Friday at the Movies

It's that time again!  Time for Friday at the Movies with Truffle and Brulee.  You've seen me playing with my chirping ball toy before.  Mom Paula has threatened to put it away because I'm not playing with it as much, but every time she says it, I turn around and play with it!  Hee! Hee!  Mom Paula says at least she knows where I am when she hears the chirping bird.  Sorry the video is so dark this week - Mom Paula forgot to turn on the overhead light!

Mom Terri emailed us this week and said she'd gone shopping for Brulee and her siblings and one of the toys she bought was the chirping ball toy!  Here is Brulee with her sister, Lexi, playing with the same toy this week.

Please take a moment and visit ThoughtsFurPaws and vote for Brulee for the Pet Photos for Halloween Contest.  You can vote by leaving a comment or by emailing Jaime at  thoughtsfurpaws@gmail.comI figured we needed more toys and treats since there are going to be two of us within the next two weeks.

Red Light Toy

I  have a new toy, but it's driving me crazy!!!  Mom Paula said something about me wearing her out with the wand toys, so she bought a "red light" toy for me to chase.  Mom Paula basically sits on the couch and makes me chase this light up and down the hallway.  I have lots of fun, but it's getting a little frustrating because I can't put this "red light" in my mouth!

We're almost catching up with Brulee's current age!!!  Saturday, she will be 9 weeks old.  Today's Glamour Photo is from when she was 7-weeks old.

Brulee - 7 weeks old

And for comparision, here is my Glamour Shot at 7-weeks of age.  Can you see the difference in our looks as Brulee gets older?

Tummy Tuesday

Mom Paula finally got a picture of my floofy tummy!  Eventually, I'll fill out and all you'll be able to see is floof, but I'm in my "lanky" growth spurt right now and I'm long and lean.  Mom Paula likes to rub and kiss my belly all the time!

Here's Brulee showing her belly with a half twist at 6 weeks of age.

Not to be outdown by my little sister, here's one of my first belly shots as a kitten.

More Toys

I'm getting bored with the toys Mom Paula has out for me to play with.  I keep trying to tell her that I need new toys and she keeps pointing out to me that I have plenty.  Do you think this is enough?

Mom Paula went to visit with Brulee last week.  She turned 8 weeks old on Saturday and Mom Terri says Brulee may come to live with us in two or three weeks (depending on how her first vaccinations go and how "mature" she is).

Here is a Glamour shot of Brulee when she was 6-weeks old.  You could really start to tell her apart from her siblings at this age.  She has a little bit of a flatter face than I do and she will have the "red" nose.  I wonder if I could get by calling her Rudolph . . .

And for comparison, here is my Glamour Photo at 6 weeks of age.

Easy Like Sunday

This was one of the last pictures of me sleeping on the pink blanket Mom Terri brought me to Mom Paula in.  Mom Paula pulled it back out on top of my pink Peggy Blankie so she could take it to Brulee to get used to my smells.

Mom Paula went down to see Brulee on Friday and took my blankie with her.  Brulee is schedule to come live with us in two or three weeks.  Here's Brulee sleeping beside my pink blankie.

Mom Paula is scheduled to be on the road 4 days this week and she will actually leave me by myself for the first time for two nights this week.  My human grandma Faye will come by and check on me.  Mom Paula says once Brulee comes to live with us that she'll bring in some pet sitters for us to interview.

Photo Hunt - High

Today's Photo Hunt theme is "high."  The highest I can get in Mom Paula's house is on top of my cat tree.

That is, since Mom Paula turned around my cat tree after I jumped up this "high" the first week I came to live with her.

Mom Paula went to visit Brulee yesterday.  Here's a picture of Brulee "high" on her shelf in the living room after Mom Paula wore her out playing.  Sorry for the yellow tint, but Mom Paula's camera was on the wrong setting!!!

Friday at the Movies

Mom Paula has been working too much lately and is also on the road, so she hasn't had much time to prepare a new movie for your viewing pleasure for "Friday at the Movies."  However, as I was putting this post together last night, Mom Paula managed to shoot a little footage so you can see me in action "helping" her.  Don't you love Mom Paula's pink kitty PJs?

I thought I was doing pretty well showing some action shots of me playing with mom's pen until we received this video of Brulee from Mom Terri.  Terri said Brulee continued this "action" for almost 15 minutes.

Here's the message Mom Paula received from Mom Terri about this video!

"Let me set the stage a bit for you before you watch the video.  In our bedroom, we have 2 kitten birthing pens.  They are similar to the ones in the living room, except they are in opposite corners to keep litters apart.  Since Lacey had her kittens, I put a half door up so they are contained a nighttime, but Mikayla can come and go as she pleases.  Well, Brulee was the first kitten to figure out how to climb the door and escape and also the first (and only) kitten to learn how to get to what we call "the mom shelf."  So, yes, little Brulee climbed onto the 'mom shelf' last night while her sisters and brother were stuck below.  She was clearly having a grand old time up on the shelf . . ."

The next day we get this message from Mom Terri:

"She was doing her funny skittering again last night and suddenly another kitten managed to find the way up there and she stopped in her tracks.  It was like she was showing off until someone else ruined her fun.  LOL.  She entertains us for sure."

I hope you enjoy Friday at the Movies today!

I'm not so sure about the celebration today.  After all, a Southern ladycat, even one in training, isn't supposed to show her backside.  However, in the spirit of being a new member of the CB, I agreed to let Mom Paula take a picture of and actually post a picture of my "tocks" in honor of Derby's birthday.  This is as much of my backside as I would let Mom Paula photograph.  Every time she'd go to take a picture, down went my tail!  MOL

Now for the good part.  Mom Terri sent a couple of pictures of Brulee and her little fuzzy tocks!  Mom Paula wanted to Photoshop one of the photos to hide Brulee's little butt, but I wouldn't let her.  I told her that she was still a baby and it was okay for us to see her in all her glory.  I hope I don't pay for this in a few weeks!  MOL

I changed my mind and let Mom Paula cover her little spot.  It's a little early to embarrass my little sister.  There will be plenty of time for that later.

She does have cute little fuzzy tocks, doesn't she?

Mom Paula also posted a memory post of Angel Sweet Praline's famous tocks.  You can see them on her blog.

Truffle Tuesday

I just love my cat tree.  You'll notice that Mom Paula turned it so I couldn't jump on top of the secretary anymore.  Mom Terri tells us that Brulee has gotten into her climbing mode now!  Isn't this a beautiful Bird TV?  Mom Paula would take down the blinds if this wasn't in the front of the house.  This is also where I'm sitting every night when Mom Paula gets home.

Here is Brulee's Week 5 Glamour shot!  Mom Terri was on vacation when Brulee was 4-weeks old, but these photos made up for missing a week.

Brulee - 5 Weeks Old

And for comparison, here's my Glamour photo from Week 5.  Don't you just love my smile?  Mom Paula says I was talking to her in this picture, trying to convince her to pick me.  It worked, didn't it.  Mom Paula received Week 7 pictures this week and Brulee is talking to her in some of those photos!

Restful Monday

Whew!  I'm kind of glad Mom Paula is going back to work today.  I had visitors on Saturday and on Sunday this weekend and they insisted on playing with me and I'm exhausted!  Also, just because I had a little bit of my poop stuck on my pantaloons, Mom Paula insisted on sticking me in the sink yesterday.  I pouted for quite a bit while I was drying out!  I think I'll rest up here in my cat tree in the sun puddles while Mom Paula is working!

Mom Terri sent this video of Brulee playing with her mom, Mikayla when Brulee was 4 weeks old.  I wanted to share this with you to show you how well Mikayla is preparing Brulee to come live with an older sister.

I think I better work on my push ups!

Easy Like Sunday

I hope you enjoyed my little introduction to "sibling rivalry" yesterday.  Would you believe Brulee was 7 weeks old yesterday?  Only a few more weeks until she comes to live with us.  Mom Paula and Mom Terri thought it would be a good idea if they exchanged some blankies with our smells on them to help us get used to each other before we come.  Mom Paula put the pink blankie that Mom Terri brought me in on top of my pink Peggy Blankie and as soon as she put it down, I jumped on it, took a few whiffs and settled down to a nap.  I think there were still some smells of Chloe on it.  Mom Paula will take it to Terri next week when she goes for a visit.

Here's another picture of Brulee's week 3 glamour shots.

Photo Hunt - Public

Today's Photo Hunt theme is "public."  I decided to take a long beauty rest before I appear before my adoring "public".

Speaking of appearing before a "public" audience, here is Brulee's first Glamour shot at 3 weeks of age!  Mom Paula is squeeing something about a pouty mouth . . .

Brulee - 3 weeks old

Not to be outdone, I decided to show my first Glamour shot at 3 weeks of age, too, so you could compare us at the same age.

Truffle - 3 weeks old

Now to let our public decide who's the cutest!

Friday at the Movies

Today is Friday at the Movies again and today you are going to be treated to a double feature:  both Brulee and me!

This video is from September, but Mom Paula was lazy and forgot to publish it.  You saw a picture of me on top of my scratching post earlier, but this is an action shot of how you should really "attack" a scratching post.  Please ignore the talking in the background.  Mom Paula was listening to the SEC Gridiron report to see what they had to say about South Carolina football.

The second video in our double feature is a video of Brulee at 11 days old.  I just don't know what I'm going to do about the cute competition she has started.  Last night when Mom Paula was going through pictures of Mikayla's kittens to find one to post - when Brulee's picture came up, I faced the computer monitor and placed my paw on her face.  I know who my sister is!!!

Thankful Thursday

Thank you to everyone for your purrs and purrayers.  The stool sample test came back negative for all parasites.  Mom Terri told us this would be the case and we believe her, but the vets don't know her and they insisted . . .  Mom Paula literally jumped for joy when my "stools" were more solid last night.  Moms get excited over the craziest things, don't they?  I'm still taking that yucky tasting medicine for 3 more days, but Mom Paula always gives me a treat afterwards.

Mom Paula also serves me bottled water and filtered water in my fountain.  Don't you like my natural light photo?

Here's a short little video of Brulee at 9-days old.  I just love how she is using to her "sea legs" to climb over her siblings to get to the milk bar.  Isn't Mom Mikayla beautiful?.

Wordy Wednesday

I had to go to the vet yesterday because I had diarrhea all night Monday night.  The vet said I didn't have a fever and everything looked and felt normal, but she gave me some medicine for it and also asked Mom Paula to bring back a stool sample.  I'm sure you can imagine how nervous Mom Paula is.  I'd appreciate purrs for both of us!

Here's a picture of Brulee at 9 Days Old.

Truffle Tuesday

Mom Paula threatened to call today "Trouble Truffle" again.  Just because I pulled off the feather toy that was on my wave scratcher and hid it somewhere is no reason to call me Trouble, is it?

Mom Terri says Brulee is doing wonderful.  Mom Paula wanted me to  make sure that I shared this cute picture of Brulee when she was 5-days old.  I think she's trying to outdo me on the cute factor.

Meeting Cody

Many of you may remember when Angel Praline introduced Cody back in August 2008.  Praline was definitely a Diva with a capital D and rarely let anyone mess with her except Mom Paula and then only if she would let her.  Cody was a different story, though.  Cody is the son of one of Mom Paula's best friends and he has Down's Syndrome.  Cody came over Friday night and we were introduced.  I was a little hesitant at first to meet Cody because he was new in the house, but it wasn't long before we started playing together.

Hello Cody, My name is Truffle.

I think Cody liked my toy as much as I did.

Nothing like a sparkly wand toy!  This was one of Angel Praline's toys from when she was a kitten.  Cody and I played together for hours!  I was so happy that Cody liked me as much as he did Praline and I think I have a new friend.

I want to let you know a little more about my future baby sister.  Brulee was born on August 27, 2011 (4 days after we lost Beignet) to Mikayla and Jayden.  Mikayla is a beautiful Golden Shaded Persian and this was her first litter.  Jayden is also my kitty daddy!  Isn't he a handsome mancat?!?  Brulee was born second and was one of 3 females and 1 male.  Here is a picture of Brulee with her littermates when they were 5-days old.  Brulee is the last one on the right.

Just a special note:  Brulee will be a Silver Shaded Persian like me.  Even though Mikayla is a Golden Shaded Persian, my daddy is a Silver Shaded Persian and both the king and queen have to be carriers of the golden gene in order to have a golden kitten.  All of the kittens are Silver.

Pee ess - Some of you are having problems clicking on the link to see my daddycat, Jayden.  Here's a picture of my handsome daddycat!

Easy Like Sunday

Have a wonderful, peaceful, easy Sunday!

My new sister's name will be Brulee (like the dessert Creme Brulee).  Here is a picture of Brulee at 5-days old (She's 6-weeks old now)!  Stay tuned for more information and pictures . . .
