Mom's Special Treasures

As many of you know, Mom Paula is a big South Carolina Gamecock Fan!  Several years ago (before all the medical bills), she purchased several collectible Gamecock items and she has them displayed on shelves in her office.  The 8 years that Sweet Praline lived with her in our house, she never bothered these items or jumped on the shelves.  Truffle also stays off of this particular shelf, even though she climbs on everything else.  Lately, Brulee has decided that she belongs with the other "treasures" on the shelf!

I'm worth more to Mom Paula than all of these "treasures" put together!

Looks like Mom Paula needs to rearrange all of the Gamecock stuff to make room for Brulee!

Friday at the Movies: Snoopervising the Printer

Truffle thinks the printer is her own private piece of furniture.  Anytime Mom Paula is working at the computer, Truffle is right beside her on the printer.  Lately, anytime Mom Paula prints something, if Truffle isn't in the office, she immediately runs to the room and gets on top of the printer to make sure everything prints correctly.

The day of this video, Brulee was resting on the printer and when Mom Paula started printing, Truffle jumped up and proceeded to move Brulee off of the printer.

Tunneling Thursday

We are still very thankful to Jacqueline's Cat House for our tunnel.  Truffle still tries to claim it as her own, but Brulee is starting to get a little bigger and can sometimes claim the tunnel before Truffle.  Notice in the photo below, Brulee is trying to ignore Truffle looking at her partially in the tunnel.  MOL!

Pee ess - no creepy snakes on the front porch last night and you better believe Mom Paula was looking closely when she came home!  ::shivers::

You Saw What on Our Front Porch?!?

Mom Paula came home last night a little after dark after running some errands.  When she reached the front porch, she stopped dead in her tracks on the top step!

This is what "greeted" Mom Paula on our front porch!  It was stretched all the way out facing the front door when she got to the top step.  Mom Paula noticed something dark on the porch and when she glanced over, it moved!  It turned around and went down between the boards on the porch.  We live in a suburban neighborhood and don't see things like this.  We don't know what kind it is and we don't want to get close enough to find out!

Tummy Tuesday

This is the first Tummy Tuesday for both of us.  Brulee has shown her floofy tummy a couple of times, but Truffle has resistant to showing hers.  Mom Paula caught both of us this week.  Enjoy!

Practicing For the High Jump Competition

Brulee thinks she can compete in the High Jump Competition for the Cat Olympics 2012 sponsored by Nellie at Musing of the Cat From Hell. I hate to tell my little sister, but Persians aren't built for jumping a lot.  But don't tell Brulee, she thinks nothing is impawsible!

Photo Hunt: Hot

Today's Photo Hunt theme is "hot".    We started to talk about us being two beautiful "hot" ladycat, which is true, but Mom Paula said Brulee is still a baby for a couple more months, so we had to wait on that one.  What does she know?


It gets very hot down here in the Deep South, especially during the summertime and what makes it worse is that we have very long, thick, floofy fur.  We've discovered the AC vents near the floor in our house.  Angel Sweet Praline told us that is where she used to always rest in the "hot" summer months to stay cool.  Here's a picture of one of the vents we like to sit in front of.

Friday at the Movies: Finding Truffle

Brulee has followed Truffle around the house since coming to live with us in November.  She may not always be right by her side, but she's always close by.  Mom Paula can be in the office and look down and just see Brulee and ask her "Where's Truffle?" and Brulee gets up and goes to the hallway looking for her.  Sometimes, she sends out her little squeaky meow and Truffle comes.  Last night, Brulee was sitting on top of the cat tree with Truffle nowhere in sight.  Mom Paula asked Brulee where Truffle was and Brulee looked around.  For a split second, she looked up towards the ceiling (asking Angel Sweet Praline) and the next thing you know, Brulee jumps down from the tree and goes straight to Truffle.  Such a sweetie!

We Have Babies!

Mom, Mom!  There's something outside making a "tweeting" noise!  Truffle, come quick!  There's something out here that I haven't seen before!

We have babies!  Mom Paula has to watch out for dodging mom and dad birds when she comes in the front door.  She bought this Gamecock Birdhouse for a decoration and had no idea that birds would actually build a nest in it.

International Box Day 2012

We are so excited to participate in our first International Box Day!  We just LOVE boxes!  In fact, we've trained Mom Paula to keep the boxes until we're finished playing with them.  She has a couple of boxes that have been here for a couple of months.  The hardest part was selecting just a couple of pictures for today because we're always in a box!

We're taking it extra easy today with Mom Paula!  She's been traveling for her job 7 of the past 10 days and she's tired.  We like having her home with us!

Friday at the Movies: We Love Treats

We just love treats!  We'd eat them all day if Mom Paula would give them to us, but she's pretty stingy with them.  However, she thinks she's trained us to come into her office while she's working by giving us treats.  Little does she know, we've trained her to automatically grab the treat bag when we get near the office.  So guess what?  We tend to hang around the office a lot!

Where's the Water?

We know running water goes into this big bowl, but for some reason it only works when Mom Paula has her hands in it!  We don't know why she doesn't leave it running all the time.  After all, what's a few green papers?

Mom Paula:  Truffle and Brulee's newest game is playing in the water.  Every night when I go to pet their heads, they're wet from sticking them under the flow of water in their water fountain.

Truffle loves to play with her mice and leaves them all over the house!  Mom Paula keeps trying to get a picture of Truffle carrying her toys, but Truffle is too fast for her!  

Warm Clothes

Brulee discovered the pleasure of warm clothes this weekend.  We've seen several of you enjoying the warm clothes in the basket and we just knew we were missing out on something.  Mom Paula was catching up with the laundry this weekend and threw the clothes from the dryer on the couch.  When she turned around, she saw Brulee right in the middle of the clothes.  Mom apologizes in advance if you see any of her unmentionables in the pictures.  MOL!

Friday at the Movies: Jack in the Box Brulee

We just love playing in Mom Paula's Gamecock trashcan.  It used to be packed full and we didn't realize how much fun it was to play in it.  Mom Paula tried putting trash back in it to see if we'd stay out and here's what she found.

That's Brulee in the trashcan.  She tipped it over and pulled out all of the trash and then got in it herself.  You'll also notice the two pair of socks that Brulee dragged out of Mom Paula's bedroom.  Later, when Mom Paula was working on the computer, she looked over and saw Truffle and Brulee playing in the trashcan.  She thought Brulee looked like one of those old fashioned Jack in the Boxes the way she popped up.  It was especially funny when she'd pop up and swat Truffle!  Watch to the end and you'll see how Truffle got her back.

We want to thank Oui Oui's mom (Paula) for our avatars.  Mom Paula still wants to learn how to do it, but she's traveling a lot for her job right now and Qui Qui's mom offered to make our avatars in celebration of Truffle's birthday.  Thank you so much!

Note from Mom Paula:  Brulee is feeling fine!  This post was trying to poke fun at her little pouty face and the fact that Truffle had all the attention this week and unfortunately, some of you thought she was sick.  


I think my little sister, Brulee, has been pouting the past few days.  Maybe she's a little jealous of all the attention I received this weekend at the Debutante Ball.    I don't know why she's so perturbed.  After all, she talked and talked to Uncle Bhu and even had Hammay to come all the way up from "Down Under" to court her.  I don't know, she just doesn't seem happy.

Hug Your Cat Day

Today is "Hug Your Cat" Day.  We don't know why there is a special day for this because everyday should be hug your cat day.  Mom Paula hugs us all of the time and she even kisses our faces and noses.  Sometimes we get tired of all of the affection, but we know it's because she loves us so much.  We have a couple of pictures below of Mom Paula hugging us.  She can never get a good picture of us in her arms because she is dependent on her timer on the camera.  At least she tries.
