We can't believe today is the last day of September! It's been a rough month for many of our furriends and their humans, but the CB has been supportive for everyone. We're going to take it easy today and watch Mom Paula work from home!

Friday at the Movies: Office Assistant
Yesterday, we shared a photo of Truffle interfering helping Mom Paula work in the home office. Our short little video today show you how Truffle insists on managing the office and ignoring snoopervising Mom Paula.
Did you notice how Brulee sat off to the side acting innocent? She wants everyone to think she doesn't get into trouble. Here's proof that Brulee is involved in the snoopervising too!

Helping Out
Truffle likes to help Mom Paula when she has to work from home (which is most nights). The problem is when Truffle sits in front of the monitor like this, Mom Paula can't see the monitor and Truffle knocks all of the pens off the desk. Truffle has also been known to add some unique keystrokes to the documents. Mom Paula says she's glad there's an undo button on the keyboard!
I need to write a note to all of my furriends!
Brulee will sit on the keyboard and watch as Truffle interrupts assists Mom Paula.
I want to help, too!

Happy Birthday Angel Sweet Praline
Today is Angel Sweet Praline's (who is our sister-before-us) birthday. Some of our new followers may not know about Sweet Praline, but she was with Mom Paula almost 16 years and left for the bridge in April 2011. Sweet Praline watches over us and guides us each day (sometimes she even shows us how to get into trouble). Today she would be 17 years old.
We have a special birthday card on Sweet Praline's blog today. Please feel free to visit it and leave comments.

The Crinkle Tunnel
Truffle just loves her crinkle tunnel that Jacqueline's Cat House sent us last year. Truffle will run back and forth in the tunnel, take her toy mousies in there to hide them, and attack Brulee from the tunnel. Brulee rarely goes in the tunnel, but prefers to watch Truffle make a fool of herself.
Brulee and Truffle
Brulee watching Truffle enter the tunnel
Truffle pops up like a jack-in-the box while Brulee turns her back.
Something catches their attention in the hallway.

Photo Hunt: Escape
Mom Paula says going to South Carolina football games is her "escape" from the stress of work and life. Our mom tends to be a little perfectionist at work and hates confrontation, so she tends to let stress build up and needs an "escape" so she won't get sick (like she has over the past few years). We think if she'd spend more time with us listening to our purrs and petting our soft furs that she wouldn't need to "escape" to watch the chickens play!

Friday at the Movies: Nannay Faye and the Dessert Sisters
Our Nannay Faye (Mom Paula's mom) never had any pets until 4 years ago when Mom Paula's sister got Nannay Faye a woofie, Bandit. Prior to that, Nannay Faye was always afraid of animals, especially cats. She never even petted or picked up Praline until about 2 years ago. We're a different story. Nannay Faye has been around us since we were little babies and she loves us. We love her because she always gives us treats and now she gives us hugs, too.
Today's video is one Mom Paula captured this past weekend of Nannay Faye giving us the attention we deserve. Our mom was shocked when Nannay Faye reached down to pick both of us up. Mom Paula has never seen her do that and the laughter from Nannay Faye is priceless. Enjoy!

Thankful Thursday
We're thankful for all of our furriends and their humans from the CB.
Update: We are shocked and heartbroken to find out that our mancat furriend, Tamir, from Friends Furever left for the Bridge today. He was just diagnosed with CRF and Mom Paula talked to Mom Sharon Tuesday night on the phone. Tomorrow will be the 2-year anniversary of Tamir's sister, Sniffie, going to the Bridge so we know this is very hard for Mom Sharon right now. We know that Angel Sweet Praline and Angel Sniffie were there to greet him with open paws. We're sending comforting purrs to Mom Sharon.

Meow Like a Pirate Day
Ahoy! Buckos! Today be Meow Like a Pirate Day. We be wearin' our best pirate hats and guardin' our treaaye chest.
Special memories o' Sweet Praline shoutin' like a scurvy pirate.
We want to pause a moment from pirate speak to remember Poppy Vic (Ann's husband from Zoolatry) who passed away yesterday after a long battle with cancer. Our heart goes out to Ann and her family as they grieve the loss of a husband, father, and grandfather.

Wake Us When Monday is Over!
We were so excited that Mom Paula was back home from St. Louis. Little did we realize that she had to go back to work today!
Have a good day Mom and wake us up when you get home!
It's almost time to announce the Secret Paws information. We thought we'd wait until after "Meow Like a Pirate Day" and LiveStrong Day before beginning the Secret Paws. We want to have an early deadline this year so everyone can receive their packages before Christmas! Stay tuned!

Easy Like Sunday
Our Gamecocks won again last night, which made Mom Paula happy, so we are happy. We're going to take it pretty easy today after Mom Paula gets home from playing the piano at church and taking her car to get new brake pads put on (there goes our treat green papers!). We hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday.

Photo Hunters: Hairy
Today's Photo Hunt theme is "hairy." This one is easy for us! We are very floofy kitties and our silvery white floof follows Mom Paula everywhere she goes on her black clothes. Mom Paula is getting out some Gamecock clothes to wear to the football game tonight and everything has "hair" on it. Mom Paula says she needs to buy stock in pet rollers because of all of this white "hair".
Mom Paula's Black Jeans
Truffle: Mom, I'm leaving some white hair on your black shirts (notice all of the hair on the blanket)
Brulee: What hair? I don't see any hair. I just see a little of us to take with you to the ball game.
The South Carolina Gamecocks are playing the University of Alabama Birmingham Blazers tonight at 7:00 pm on FSN. Go Gamecocks! This was Mom Paula's first attempt at editing pictures into pictures in her new version of Photoshop Elements. We think she did pretty good.

Friday at the Movies: Crinkle Toy Wakeup
Mom Paula is back home, so Truffle brought her some toys during the night. We joined her in a little crinkle toy wake up this morning. Have a great day!

Trouble Truffle Tuesday
It's that time again! It's time to report how Truffle has been in trouble again. (Truffle: Not me!) We don't know what it is about plastic bags, but Truffle just loves them. As soon as Mom Paula puts one down, Truffle is chewing on it! This last time, Mom Paula turned around to hang up something and look what Truffle did!
Well, the bag said "I feel good!"
There's nothing like plastic!

Again???
Need we say anything more?
Special Purrs: We have several of the humans that live with our furriends that need our special purrs and support. Ann (from Zoolatry), is in the hospital fighting cellulitis while her husband, Poppy Vic is at home fighting that nasty cancer. Auntie Deb (from Taylor Catsssss) just lost her mother, Mom ML (from KC and the Giggleman Gang) is recuperating from a cat bite, Judi-Bug (from SASS) is fighting cancer, Bhu's Poppy (from Patty Skypants) lost his job and is searching for another, and Auntie El (from Friends Furever) is starting chemotherapy today. These are the people the we know about who we've been furriends with a long time, but we're sure there are others out there who need our comforting and healing purrs, too. Mom Paula says her struggles seem so minor when compared to what others are going through.

Mo Cats Day
As the graphic says above, today is a days that is designated for us cats because some foolish person made a comment that there were too many cats on the Internet. We're celebrating Mo-Cats Day by sharing "mo" pictures of us!

When God Created
Kitty Cats
When
God created kitty cats,
He had no recipe;
He knew He wanted something sweet,
As sweet as sweet could be.
He
started out with sugar,
Adding just a trace of spice;
Then stirred in drops of morning dew,
To keep them fresh and nice.
He
thought cats should be soft to pet,
Thus He gave them coats of fur;
So they could show they were content,
He taught them how to purr.
He
made for them long tails to wave,
While strutting down the walk;
Then trained them in meow-ology,
So they could do cat-talk.
He
made them into acrobats,
And gave them grace and poise;
Their wide-eyed curiosity,
He took from little boys.
He
put whiskers on their faces,
Gave them tiny ears for caps;
Then shaped their little bodies,
To snugly fit on laps.
He
gave them eyes as big as saucers,
To look into man's soul;
Then set a tolerance for mankind,
As their purpose and their goal.
Benevolent
... and ... generous,
He made so many of them;
Then charged, with Fatherly Concern,
The human race to love them.
When
one jumped up upon His lap,
God gently stroked its head;
The cat gave Him a kitty kiss,
"What wondrous love," God said.
God smiled at His accomplishment,
So pleased with His creation;
And said, with pride, as He sat back,
"At last. . .I've reached purr-fection!"

It's Not Pirate Day Yet
We don't know what our mom is trying to do to us! She said something about seeing the Pirates today, but we know that "Meow Like a Pirate Day" isn't until September 19. Then we saw this Carolina Gamecock jersey on our bed and realized it must be another football game. At least this one is in Columbia, so Mom Paula will come home tonight after the game.
The South Carolina Gamecocks are playing the East Carolina Pirates. That's why we were so confused. The game is at 12:21 pm EST and will be televised regionally on the SEC Network and ESPN3. Truffle enjoyed being a pirate last year and has been telling Brulee all about it because she wasn't living with us yet. You can just imagine how excited Brulee is! In the meantime, Go Gamecocks!

Friday at the Movies: Filing Brulee
Friday at the Movies is back! Our black chair was cleaned off, but there are a few papers that need to be filed and Mom Paula has been traveling so much with work lately that it hasn't been done. Brulee has decided that she loves the file folders. In this video, it looks like she is actually helping Mom Paula file. Notice that Truffle is just sitting idly by and watching Brulee work! We're just trying to let Mom Paula know that it's time she gets these papers off of our floor. Have a great Friday!

Thankful Thursday
Update on Slash and Bronzy! - Karen Alcorn from Gypsy & Tasha has agreed to foster Slash and Bronzy! This is wonderful news!
We're thankful Mom Paula has so much "junk" on her desk for us to play with! Truffle discovered the desktop months ago, but Brulee just recently discovered it and is constantly playing with everything and knocking it on the floor.
Emergency Request
We have an emergency request for two of our furriends who live in Australia: Slash and Bronzy. Their mom, Shireen Chan, is from Singapore and needs to return home temporarily (prior to September 21) to deal with visa issues. She does not want to uproot Slash and Bronzy for a short time and have them fly to another country and be in quarantine for what may be only a few weeks. Do you know of anyone in Melbourne who might be willing to foster Slash and Bronzy for 1 - 3 months? You can reach Shireen at her email address or on her FB account.
