Yummy Lickety Stick

Mom Paula has been quite slack in helping us post about some of the items we've won in contests and that our furriends have sent us the last few months.  Since she is home recovering from the shingles, we reminded her of the importance of thanking everyone and the need to post about our items.  We'll be sharing pictures over the next few days.  We hope we don't forget anyone.

Pee ess - We also want to mention that Angie has a new book coming out in August.  The title is "Whiskerslist: The Kitty Classifieds" and it's a parady on Craigslist and cats. We can't wait to read this book.

Mom Paula used the zoom feature on her camera to get this close up photo of Brulee.  Brulee stayed in bed with Mom Paula all day yesterday and used her healing purrs.

Friday at the Movies: Brulee and the Pony Tail Holder

Brulee tends to ignore the "cat" toys around the house and prefers Mom Paula's stuff, especially her socks and hose.  This time, Brulee was playing with one of Mom Paula's pony tail holders.  The only problem was that Truffle insisted on dropping in to pounce on Brulee and would then run away.  Brulee showed respect for her big sister, but as soon as Truffle left, Brulee went back to playing.

Pee ess - Just when Mom Paula thought she was on the mend, she now has the Shingles.

Thankful Thursday

Today we're thankful that our sister-before-us, Sweet Praline, prepared such a wonderful loving home for us with Mom Paula.  It's been two years since Sweet Praline left for the bridge after a short battle with cancer.  We know Sweet Praline was known as the "Diva of the CB" and we have a lot to live up to to carry on her tradition.  Mom Paula posted a few baby pictures of Sweet Praline on her blog.  Please go over and visit and share a smile as we remember her today.

Punk Rocker Kitty

Brulee's floof has gone wild!  Mom Paula promises Brulee was groomed yesterday morning and this is what she came home to last night.  Mom Paula is now calling Brulee her "punk rocker kitty".  We do think this is a great picture of Brulee using natural light (which we don't get much of in our house).

Friday at the Movies - Snoopervising the Printing

Truffle loves to snoopervise when Mom Paula is working at the computer and especially when the printer starts.  Mom Paula watches closely to make sure Truffle doesn't get her whiskers or tail caught in the printer.

Pee ess - Mom Paula is experiencing some sharp pains from her incision and is calling the doctor this morning.  We'll update you later.

Update on Mom Paula:  The doctor thinks it is just the nerves reacting to the body healing and the different positions the incision goes when she turns and moves.  However, there was a small place she took a scraping from to test and she gave Mom Paula some more antibiotics.  

Thankful Thursday

Many of you wondered if the white stuff in the trashcan yesterday was cotton balls or our floof!  We're here to tell you that it's our floof!  We're thankful that Mom Paula doesn't give up on grooming us each morning and most evenings because if she didn't, all that floof would be in our bellies!

Grooming us each day is a full time job.  Mom Paula said she had to groom Angel Sweet Praline twice a day, too, but that Sweet Praline loved to be groomed.  We're not so sure we like it yet, but Mom Paula continues to work with us to get us comfortable with our grooming tools:  a rotating tooth comb, a brush, and the Furminator (for mats).  It's still tough to get Brulee's belly because she fights it, but she is getting better.

Brulee can be so laid back (some may call her lazy) that she just lays there and lets Truffle give her a bath.  Can you blame her with all that fur?

Thankful Thursday

We're thankful Mom Paula has been home with us most of the week, even if she was recuperating from surgery.  Brulee enjoyed playing with the foot monster under the covers when Mom Paula was trying to rest.  We just wish Mom Paula could pick us up and love us like she usually does.  We're very thankful the doctor got all of that nasty cancer!

Pee ess - Mom Paula is still home recuperating from her surgery.  When she changed the bandage last night, she saw the incision was about 3 1/2 inches and it's on her lower abdomen.  She tried to take a picture of it but we told her not to share it because it was gross!  Her post op instructions tell her to take it easy, avoid lifting anything over 5 pounds (that means us!), not to bend over, and not to exercise for a week.

Pee ess - Mom Paula's surgery was a success yesterday.  The doctor believes he got all the cancer.  Because of the location of the incision on her abdomen, she is limited what she can do for a week.  Thank you for your purrs!

We update this post to wish Marg of Marg's Animals a Happy  Birthday!  Marg works tirelessly helping animals and giving her time and efforts to the Furriends of the CB auction.  Our mom considers herself very lucky to have met Marg in person.  We hope Marg has a wonderful day today.

Mom Paula is having minor surgery today to remove a skin cancer that has come back.  The surgery is 8:30 a.m. EST.  The doctor is going to do a procedure called Moh's Surgery.  We know Squamous Cell Carcinoma isn't as serious as Melanoma, but it's still cancer.

Today is the last day for the Furriends of the CB Auction for ML and KC.  The auction ends tonight at midnight EST.  There are a lot of great items and the proceeds are going towards a great lady who has helped many of us in the CB in the past.

Friday at the Movies - Unpacking the Computer

We finally have our new computer up and running.  There are still several things to do, but at least our pictures are okay and we can get on the Internet.  We had the most fun helping unpack the computer.

The new computer is set up.  That is, it's connected to the internet and Microsoft Office is installed.  Mom Paula is going crazy trying to find her pictures and figure out how to edit them.  Truffle has a feeling it's going to be a long week ...

No More Blogging

It's really been tough blogging lately.  Mom Paula is constantly on the road, our computer is on it's last breath, we rarely get to visit our furriends anymore because Mom Paula is too busy with work, and she's facing some health issues.  We think it's time to take a little break from blogging.

APRIL FOOLS!  Gotcha, didn't we?!?  We have no plans to discontinue blogging because we love all of you so much and have lots of fun!  Have a great day!
