Truffle Tuesday

Mom Paula thinks she's trained us to come to her bedroom when she calls us by putting treats into the beside table.  Little does she know, we've trained her to put treats in every room in the house so we can get then wherever we go.  Truffle has been known to grab the whole bag out of the drawer when Mom Paula isn't looking and she'll perform great balancing acts to get to them.

Beauty Sleep

We finally had Mom Paula all to ourselves this weekend with no paperwork!  All of us were able to take naps on Saturday and Sunday and catch up on our beauty sleep, especially Mom Paula.  Mom Paula had time to comb us and clean our eyes (still waiting on the pedicure).  We think Mom Paula still needs a little more beauty sleep.  MOL!

Photo Hunt - Planter

We don't have any "live" plants in our house because Mom Paula has a "black" thumb.  MOL! However, we do have a special silk tree in the house that we love to play in.  Today's picture is when Mom Paula caught Baby Brulee playing in the planter!

Friday at the Movies

As many of you have seen over the last few weeks, my permanent resting place has been in front of the computer monitor because someone we know has been working too hard!

Just when I thought all of the papers were gone from the front of the computer, more papers appeared.  I've had just about enough of this paperwork at home.  Mom Paula already doesn't get home at night until after 7:00 pm and then she still works.  I decided to put my paw down and put the bitey on that paperwork!  Just imagine everyone's surprise when they get those papers with teeth marks on them.  MOL!



Pee ess - we have an exciting announcement coming up this weekend.  We're helping to put together a 2014 calendar of CB Cats.  We've set up a webpage with all the information and there will be a quick turn-around time to send us your pictures.

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful that Mom Paula has completed all of her major paperwork (at least for a little while) so she'll stop yelling "TRUFFLE" at me when I try to entertain myself since I'm not getting enough attention.  Just wait until you see the video tomorrow of me attacking her paperwork!  MOL!

Truffle Tuesday

Truffle likes to snoopervise and talk to the neighbors from her office window.  Many of you've seen our beautiful yard that our neighbor works on for us.  His grandson, Aidan, likes to help out and always takes time to talk to Truffle and Brulee through the window.  Truffle likes to talk to little humans as long as there is a window between them and her.

Mischief on Monday

Brulee has discovered how to gt back on the shelf with Mom Paula's Gamecock collectibles.  You'll notice the plates and other breakables have been moved up on the bookcase and Brulee is hanging around with the stuffed animals.  We wouldn't put it past her to find her way on the top eventually.

Friday at the Movies: New Treats

We are so excited about our new treats.  Andrew, from Chewy.com, contacted us about trying out some new products they have and one of the items was the Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Boost Minis freeze dried raw treats.  That's a mouthful, but we'll eat a mouthful of these any day and any time!

It figures Truffle would be the first one in the box to test out these new treats.

These treats come in two flavors:  duck and chicken.  Andrew allowed us to choose which flavor we wanted and since chicken is our favorite, we chose it.  We think we'll also try out some of the duck because we liked the chicken so much.

As we impatiently waited for Mom Paula to open the box, the aroma of the treats was intoxicating to us.

We are not on a strict diet of total raw or grain-free food and treats; but we are very health conscious about our ladycat figures and health.  Mom Paula has resorted to buying mostly grain-free treats and stinky goodness canned food, but we still eat our special Persian formula crunchies.  For our "stricter diet" furriends, here are the ingredients of these delicious treats.

Thankful Thursday

We think Mom Paula is finally back in the "land of the living."  The applications were narrowed down from 73 to 5.  There are several more steps before she'll know if one of these is her new boss.  All we know if we're glad we have her back and paying attention to us.  We didn't have to get into mischief in order to get attention yesterday!

Will This Cute Pose Get Her Attention?

You guessed it!  Mom Paula is still reading applications.  She's read close to 50 and still has about 22 to go.  She's on the road today (may get to visit with Marg for a late lunch), so it'll be a late night tonight because the search committee meets tomorrow morning.

Truffle thinks that laying on top of the scoring rubrics and giving her this cute look will distract Mom Paula from working.  It did work.  For a few minutes, that is!

Are You Finished Yet?

Mom Paula is still working on reviewing all of those applications!  We know it's an important job, but we want some attention.

Some of you were wondering what Mom Paula is up to.  Her boss recently passed away from a glioblastoma brain tumor and the agency director has determined he wants to go outside the agency to search for a new director.  Mom Paula was asked to serve on the search committee and since this will be her future boss, of course she said yes.  The only problem is that Mom Paula is a little OCD with Perfectionism thrown in, so it takes her forever to read each application and fill out the rubric.

Easy Like Sunday

Truffle says she is going to stay right in front of the computer today, taking it easy, while Mom Paula is working at home.  Mom Paula has to review over 70 applications before Wednesday morning, so she's not going to be taking it easy today (or the next two evenings).

Brulee says to let her know when all of the work is over.

Our 2nd Blogoversary

Two years ago today, Mom Paula started a new blog to announce the new furchildren who would be coming into her life after a grieving period for Angel Sweet Praline.  Mom Paula wanted a fresh start with the blog and wanted us to have a place to call our own and Sweet Purrfections was born.

How did she come up with the name for our blog?  We'll tell you!  Sweet Praline was named after a New Orleans/French confection that is very sweet.  When she saw us, she knew we were going to be "purrfect", so she combined purrfect with confections to make purrfections and added the word sweet in front to honor Sweet Praline.  We've enjoyed getting to know all of our furriends on the CB and hope we have many more years of blogging.

Our video today is just a short little clip of us looking glamorous and purrfect!

I'm thankful Mom Paula finally got my desk cleaned up so I don't have to fight all of the papers for a good sleeping spot!

Too bad these were enclosed in that plastic container!!!  Don't you just love it when the humans have a Diet Coke with the sweets.  Even I know that won't work!

Don't worry - Mom Paula knows chocolate is poisonous to us kitties and not good for her waistline.  She says she just needed some comfort food after attending the funeral of her former father-in-law and seeing her ex-husband last week.

Monday Mischief

Mom Paula had to puppysit our woofie cousin, Bandit last Friday night.  As you know, she's in the middle of decluttering the house, so things are starting to go missing around our house.

When Mom Paula got home Saturday night, Brulee had brought several individual socks and a pair of pantyhose into the hallway and left them there.  Mom Paula suspects Cory visited Brulee and they had a great time with the clean clothes that hadn't been put away yet (that'll teach Mom Paula).

There's more where these came from!  MOL!

Mom Paula was too tired when she got home Saturday night, so she just left the socks in the hallway for Brulee to enjoy one more day.  When  Mom Paula came home from church Sunday afternoon, Truffle had added some of her toys to Brulee's sock stash.  What was so interesting is how Truffle organized her toys into a nice neat row.

Let's see how many more toys I can pull out from UTB.

Photo Hunt - Go

Mom Paula is always on the "go", especially for work.  We always dread the red or blue suitcase when it comes out because it means it's time to go again.

We're not going to let her go again anytime soon!  However, she did say something about needing to travel to Orlando, Raleigh, and Los Angeles within the next two months.  Can anyone hide these suitcases so she can't go???

Friday at the Movies: Annoying Noise Crackers

We know many of our furriends were UTB last night with all the noise crackers.  We live in a state and city where firecrackers are legal and people all around us shoot them all night long.  Sometimes it sounds like they are coming through our house because they are so loud.  They really don't bother us!  In fact, we tend to watch them through our bird TV.

It also helps to ignore those noise crackers when treats are involved as you will see in the video for this week.  If loud noises scare some of you, you better cover your ears because you can hears the noise crackers in the background.

Today is Independence  Day (aka 4th of July) in the United States.  We hope all of our furriends have a safe and happy holiday and that you don't have suffer through too many of those noise crackers!

Mom Paula is taking a "staycation" this week and one of her goals is to clean up the remaining clutter in her home office.  Truffle claimed a folder for her own to put her special papers in to be filed.  It looks like there are lots of papers to go through and be shredded.  This could be a long week!

Brulee's Step Stool

Several years ago when Mom Paula moved back into her house and was making some decent money (pre 13 surgeries), she decided to purchase new furniture for each room.  She didn't want anything in the house that was shared with the ex-husband.  It was always her dream to get a four-poster rice bed and that's what she got.  However, she had problems getting into the bed because it's so high from the ground and Mom Paula is less than 5 feet tall.  The furniture store suggested she purchase this step stool.  Brulee thinks the step stool is just for her.  When she comes into the bedroom to jump on the bed, she jumps up via the steps.
