Photo Hunt - Game

What a purrfect Photo Hunt theme for today!  Today is the last game of the regular season for our South Carolina GAMEcocks!  They're playing the kitties from Clemson University.  This is the first time in the 100+ year rivalry that both teams are ranked in the top 10.  Of course Mom Paula will be in the stands cheering with all the other GAMEcocks!  We'll just stay home where it's warm and hope our team wins the game.

First, we set up the blanket and shakers (don't worry - she quickly put these up once the picture was taken because Brulee was trying to eat them!).

Friday at the Movies - The Trash Bag

Truffle loves to get into the trash can as you saw earlier this week.  Mom Paula usually keeps plastic bags out of the way because Truffle loves to lick and chew on them.  However, we're trying to clean up all the boxes from the calendar orders and Truffle took advantage of the huge black bag.

Finger Lickin' Good

We were given the opportunity by chewy.com to review the Halo Liv-a-Littles 100% chicken breast treats.  We've always loved our other freeze-dried chicken treats, but hadn't tried the Halo brand before, so we jumped at the chance to review them.

The Halo Liv-a-Littles treats come in three flavors:  chicken, salmon, and beef.  We asked to test the chicken treats because that's our favorite (remember, Truffle's tummy doesn't handle fish to well). "These treats are 100% pure chicken breast and are 100% grain-free.  They are freeze-dried to lock in the flavor and nutritional benefits of protein-rich chicken breast."  The ingredients listed on the chewy.com website state "freeze-dried chicken breast, marinade (sodium phosphate, salt, carrageenan).  Mom Paula likes these treats because they're healthy and she likes the plastic jar they come in because Truffle can't tear into them during the night and eat all of them.  MOL!

Usually Truffle is the aggressive one when it comes to treats, but Brulee quickly grabbed the Halo Liv-a-Little treats from Mom Paula's fingers, right from Truffle's mouth!

Mom Paula needed to break these treats into smaller pieces because Truffle will try to eat it on one bite and may get choked.  She thinks she is fooling us by giving us a bunch of smaller treats, but we keep begging for more (and usually get it).

One of the best things about the Halo Liv-a-Littles treats is that they are on sale at chewy.com right now!

Secret Paws Helper

The Secret Paws match up is complete.  Truffle helped Mom Paula to send out all of the emails notifying everyone of their matches.  We've also sent an invitation to be an author on the Secret Paws 2013 website.  Mom Paula said it took her twice as long to get the work done last night because Truffle kept getting in front of the monitor.

What are you talking about?  I'm helping!

Easy Like Sunday

We're going to take it easy today while Mom Paula works!  We have the match-ups for the Secret Paws, but we need to send out the emails.  We'll do our best to get them out today (after our nap).

Friday at the Movies - Brulee and the iPhone Cord

Brulee really loves to play with cords in the house, especially Mom Paula's iPhone cord.  Brulee was a little foolish though in letting Mom Paula "catch" her in the act with the video camera though.  


Pee ess - we have the "match-ups" for the Secret Paws ready and will send out the emails the next couple of days.  We'll also send requests for each participating kitty to contribute to the Secret Paws page.  We're so excited because we have 55 different households participating this year.

Thankful Thursday

Imagine our surprise when a LARGE box was delivered to our door!

 This box is big enough for both of us!

We're thankful for the prize package we won from Thoughts Fur Paws.  We knew we were receiving something from Hills, but we had no idea we'd receive all of this!   

 Brulee immediately claimed the loot in the box.

We received a large bag of dried food, 6 cans of stinky goodness, a bag of treats, and a Drinkwell water fountain!  We've never eaten this food before, but we're excited to try it.  We already have 3 water fountains and haven't decided whether we're going to save this one for a rainy day or possibly give it away.  Thank you Jaime for sponsoring this contest.

Thankful Thursday

We're thankful for boxes that are delivered to our house!  We like what's inside, but it's lots of fun to climb into the boxes.

We're also very thankful for all of the wonderful well wishes for Mom Paula.  She just hasn't been herself the past two months with her shoulder pain.  We try to visit, but her arm just gives out on her.  Thank you to everyone for continuing to visit us.

We're also very thankful for those kind souls who've donated to our (vet and human) medical bills. We're not sick, but it's time for our annual checkup, and Mom Paula is spending lots of money on medication and medical bills and she doesn't even want to see her co-pay for the upcoming surgery. Thank you from the bottom of our floofy hearts and toes!

Friday at the Movies: The Bag

We don't get too many paper bags in our house, so imagine our thrill when Mom Paula dropped one on the floor for us!  We wish she'd get a bigger one!

Remembering Ginger Jasper

We are so sad because our special furriend, Ginger Jasper, went to the bridge yesterday after a long battle.  We're sending very special comforting purrs to his mum and dad, Carol and Barrie.

Ginger Jasper was very special to us because he was one of Sweet Praline's handsome mancats and they did a lot together.  We wanted to honor GJ today by sharing some of Mom Paula's memories and pictures.

Mom Paula:  I remember a few years (March 2009) ago getting an email from Carol asking if she could have my address because she wanted to send Sweet Praline something.  Of course, I said yes, and a few days later Sweet Praline received a very special package.  This is one of my favorite pictures of Sweet Praline in her tent with her pink boa and nip cigar.  It was the purrfect representation of her being a Southern Diva.

Of course, at that point Sweet Praline was in love!  To be honest, I think all of the ladycats were in love with GJ, but Sweet Praline thought he was her special mancat and he continued to woo her in June 2009 when he sent himself special delivery!

In August 2009, Ginger Jasper starred in the CB soap opera, "As the Paw Turns" with Sweet Praline.  You can read the weekly soap opera here beginning on August 16, 2009.  Ginger Jasper was the mayor and was torn between Sweet Praline and Maggy.

In 2010, we had a contest in the CB for everyone to submit photos to be featured in the "Nude Cats of the CB" calendar.  Ginger Jasper was Mr. November!

Ginger Jasper and Sweet Praline continued to flirt on the CB until she left for the bridge in April 2011.  Carol was there for me as I grieved for my little diva kitty.  Once Truffle and Brulee came to live with me, "Uncle GJ" immediately started watching over the girls.  He made a special trip across the pond to serve as a chaperone at the debutante ball celebrating Truffle's first birthday.

I have so many other special memories of GJ and he was special to me because there were so few Persians in the CB.  I am comforted knowing that GJ is at the bridge with Sweet Praline now and that they are watching over all of us.  Ginger Jasper will be missed by all!  There are so many other things I wish I could say to Carol and Barrie, but words escape me.  To me, GJ will always be the Gentleman of the CB.  Goodbye sweet prince!

Happy Gotcha Day Brulee!

Two years ago today, our quirky little Brulee came to live with us!  Mom Terri delivered Brulee to our door and as soon as she put Brulee on the floor, Truffle hissed at her.  Brulee made herself right at home and followed Truffle everywhere around the house.
