We received a bag of dry cat food from chewy.com to review. Imagine our surprise and pleasure to see this food is designed especially for us: Persians. The bag of food we received to review was Royal Canin Persian Formula.
Truffle checks out the bag of food
We've heard about Royal Canin because our vet lady recommended it to us. Royal Canin has been involved with pet nutrition since 1967 and were the first to develop a diet exclusively for large-breed dogs and recently introduced a diet tailored specifically to the needs of extra-small breed dogs. What's really cool is that they make food for specific breeds of dogs and cats. Benefits of Royal Canin Pet Food are
- Royal Canin dog food and Royal Canin cat food diets are tailored to your pet's specific physiological needs
- Packed with vitamins and amino acids to fortify the skin's barrier to allergens and improve life expectancy
- Packaged under a protective controlled atmosphere to conserve all of the food's natural flavor and nutritional qualities.
Note the almond-shaped kibble
The Royal Canin Persian Dry Formula contains nutrients and vitamins (D3 and B12 vitamins) that help support the skin's role as a barrier and maintain skin and coat health and is enriched with Omega 3 fatty acids and Omega 6 fatty acids. Persians have a long and dense coat which causes them to swallow a large quantity of fur during grooming. The Persian formula contains fibers to help stimulate intestinal transit and naturally limit hairball formation. Best of all, we think it tastes so good, we'll even eat it out of Mom Paula's hand.
We tended to get a little aggressive trying to eat all of the kibble from Mom Paula's hand.
We're usually pretty neat eaters, but after Mom Paula put out some kibble for us to eat (we free-feed with our dry food because we don't overeat), she came into the kitchen the next morning to find this.
Just look at all the kibble on the floor!
We were so excited about the taste of our Royal Canin Persian food, that we spilled it all over the floor. That didn't stop Truffle though. She ate up all the kibble outside the bowl before moving on to what was inside the bowl.
We really like this food and Brulee has no problem eating it. We know our vet will be happy since she recommended this particular brand of food. The ingredients are:
Chicken meal, rice, chicken fat, corn gluten meal, brown rice, natural chicken flavor, wheat gluten, rice hulls, pea fiber, chicory pulp, anchovy oil (source of EPA/DHA), L-lysine, psyllium seed husk, sodium silico aluminate, soya oil, potassium chloride, dried egg product, DL-methionine, fructo-oligosaccharides, calcium carbonate, taurine, salt, dried brewers yeast extract (source of mannan-oligosaccharides), Vitamins [DL-alpha tocopherol (source of vitamin E), inositol, niacin, L-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (source of vitamin C), D-calcium pantothenate, biotin, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), riboflavin (vitamin B2), thiamine mononitrate (vitamin B1), vitamin A acetate, folic acid, vitamin B12 supplement, vitamin D3 supplement], choline chloride, borage oil, potassium citrate, sodium tripolyphosphate, Trace Minerals [zinc proteinate, zinc oxide, ferrous sulfate, manganese proteinate, copper proteinate, copper sulfate, manganous oxide, calcium iodate, sodium selenite], marigold extract (Tagetes erecta L.), rosemary extract, preserved with natural mixed tocopherols (source of vitamin E) and citric acid.
We want to thank chewy.com for sending us this bag of Royal Canin Persian dry food to test and review. We checked the price on the chewy.com website and it's cheaper than the local pet supply store near us. We'll definitely continue eating this food.
We received this food free from chewy.com for our review and were not compensated.
