The Original Flavor has ingredients listed as Chicken liver, turkey liver, boneless chicken, boneless turkey, boneless flounder. Mom Paula was a little worried about allowing Truffle to have the flounder since her tummy has reacted violently to herring in one of the Orijen dry foods, but to our pleasure, Truffle's tummy handled these treats great! It's a good thing too because Truffle was the first to climb on top of Mom Paula to try out the new treat.
The food and treats made by Orijen are delivered to their kitchens FRESH DAILY! Orijen doesn't outsource their food and treats to a third-party factory. Orijen's philosophy is that their food and treats for cats is biologically appropriate. This means that their food "mirrors the freshness and variety of meats that cats would naturally hunt in the wild and for which they are evolved to eat." The Original Flavor we received to try contained fresh cage-free chicken and turkey from local farms and fresh wild-caught flounder from North Vancouver's pristine Pacific Ocean. These treats are so delicious and have an easy shape to eat that Brulee was eating them right out of Mom Paula's fingers with no problems.
Currently, these Orijen Original Freeze-Dried Cat Treats are selling at $5.49 for a 1.25 ounce bag. We know these may be a little expensive for some of our furriends, but they are right in line with the other healthy, freeze-dried treats Mom Paula is giving us now. We definitely plan on trying the other flavors and now want to try the dry food (not the fish flavor) because we love these so much. Just look at that satisfied face on Brulee!
We have a short little video for you to see how much we enjoyed the Orijen Original Freeze-Dried treats. As usual. as soon as Mom Paula opened the bag, Truffle was all over her.
We received these treats free from chewy.com to sample and were not compensated for our review. The comments above are our honest opinions of these delicious treats. Thank you chewy.com for allowing us to participate in this test. We hope we passed.
We thought those treats were pretty tasty too! It's funny how you girls liked the shape but we wanted them broken in half!
