This was not an easy weekend!
Notice in the picture above that the yard across the street still had snow and ice at 12:00 noon. When Mom Paula got home at 5:30 pm, their snow was gone, but ours will still covered.
Then, last night around 10:21, we felt the ground beneath our house rumble. We thought is was one of those big military cargo planes going overhead, but it just kept rumbling and moving. Guess what? We had an earthquake in the town of Edgefield, SC, which is about 60 miles from us! It had a magnitude of 4.1 and was felt in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
We're ready for things to settle down again. It's supposed to get in the 70s later this week.
No more ice, snow, or earthquakes - Okay?!?!
Holy MOLEY!!!! You all deserve a verreh quiet week after all that!! We have rumblers occasionally, and Mommy gets all excited...she's a little weird.
ReplyDeleteThe Male was quite surprised--that was a decent sized quake and you are not in an area that gets those!
ReplyDeleteWE are glad the earthquake did not cause any damage. We are worried about Mom Paula, though!
ReplyDeleteI hope that earthquake didn't freak out you kitties too much. And I REALLY hope your human feels better after that fall!
ReplyDeleteWhat a hectic day ! You deserve some quiet days after that ! We're glad that the earthquake didn't cause any damage or hurt anyone. We hope your mom gets better soon. Purrs
ReplyDeleteThat's way too much excitement, and not the kind you want to have. We hope that Mom Paula's shoulder starts to feel better again soon. We know she has the best two nurses in the south to help her!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness girls! It's all go at your house huh? I'm glad your Mom didn't get seriously hurt when she fell...and got some help clearing off her car. We had an earthquake here in Virginia a couple of years ago and I was really scared! Hope you have a CALM Sunday....
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sammy
Goodness,
ReplyDeleteyou could do without that type of excitement!

a dull rest of the weekend.

ReplyDeleteOMC! That's not the kind of excitement you want to have. We hope Mom Paula is okay after falling. And we hope the ground doesn't shake anymore.
ReplyDeleteOK Mother Nature, can you please leave Truffle and Brulee's town alone for awhile? Too much excitement~
ReplyDeleteWowie that was some kind of excitement girls!! How is your Momma feeling today? We hope she is just sore and didn't hurt that shoulder she had surgery on.
ReplyDeleteWe sure hope that Mom Paula feels better really soon. It has been a really bad time for everyone. Glad you didn't feel the earthquake too much. We didn't feel it at all. Hope your week is better.
ReplyDeleteWe are sure sending our best purrs to Mom Paula and we hope that shoulder is okay. Hey, we felt that earthquake up here too and we thought it was a plane too.
ReplyDeleteYou have been through it and we hope that's the last of problems now. I hope that fall didn't do any damage to the shoulder. Wow an earthquake must have been pretty scary. Stay safe and have a better week x
ReplyDeleteWe hope your mom is okay and didn't injure anything. As for the earthquake- yikes!
