Wonderful Treats

We received these wonderful new treats to try out and review from chewy.com - Nature's Variety Raw Boost Minis treats.  These treats come in two flavors, duck and chicken.  We received the chicken flavor.
Truffle and Brulee check out the bag of treats

We've seen these treats on other blogs and in the stores before, but Mom Paula wasn't too sure about them because they were so different.  Well, we're here to tell you that we're putting in a permanent special order to have these treats all the time.
Eating the treats out of Mom Paula's hand

The Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Boost Minis treats are freeze-dried raw treats that don't contain wheat, corn, soy, grain, gluten, by-product meals, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.  And guess what?  They are only 2 calories each so we ladycats (and mancats) can eat something delicious and maintain our svelte figures.
Brulee eats these treats directly from Mom Paula's fingers.

These treats are a soft texture and shaped in such a way that Brulee can easily eat them without them falling out of her mouth.  Of course, it goes without saying that Truffle loves them.
Look closely for Truffle tongue tasting the treats

Here's a list of the ingredients of these delicious treats.
Chicken (Including Ground Chicken Bone), Turkey, Turkey Liver, Turkey Heart, Pumpkinseeds, Apples, Carrots, Butternut Squash, Ground Flaxseed, Montmorillonite Clay, Broccoli, Lettuce, Spinach, Dried Kelp, Apple Cider Vinegar, Parsley, Honey, Salmon Oil, Mixed Tocopherols, Olive Oil, Rosemary Extract, Blueberries, Alfalfa Sprouts, Persimmons, Inulin, Rosemary, Sage, Clove

We are very impressed with these treats.  The fact that they are good for us as well as delicious convinces Mom Paula to buy these for us in the future.  They are currently on sale at chewy.com for $7.19.  We can't wait to try out the duck flavor.
Truffle gives these treats four paws up!

We received these treats from chewy.com free to review and our comments are our own.

Here's a short little video showing how much we love these treats.

Truffle Tuesday

Truffle did it again!  Mom Paula turned her head for just a few seconds and when she turned around, Truffle had jumped into the bathtub!  We know, we know . . .  Many of you get in the tubs all the time, but we have one of those old tubs with doors on them and we don't usually get the opportunity to check it out.  Good thing the water was turned off!
Think it's time to throw out this bath mat!!!  No matter how much it's cleaned, the stains won't come out!

Easy Like Sunday

We're taking it easy around the Turbo Track today just in case we get in the mood to play!
We may need to hide UTB when Mom Paula pulls out the Kirby Monster to clean up this floof!

Photo Hunt - Ink

If Truffle isn't careful, she's going to get ink all over her beautiful white and silver floof.
Don't worry!  Mom Paula watched me very carefully and only let me do this long enough for a picture.  Besides this so one of her favorite ink pens.

Friday at the Movies: Remembering Sweet Praline

Three years ago, today, our sister-before-us, Sweet Praline was helped to the bridge due to cancer.  Many of you remember the "Diva of the CB" as she was fondly known, but we wanted to share her with our new furriends.

Sweet Praline was a Himalayan/Red Persian.  Her registered name was Miss Paula's Sweet Praline and she was 15 1/2 years old when she left for the bridge.  Mom Paula said it would be easy to focus on the day she left, but she would rather focus on the happy memories.  Sweet Praline was almost 13 years old when she started blogging in 2008.  She never really acted her age until those last couple of months and would play like a kitten.  Sweet Praline didn't like catnip in her early years, but fell in love with the catnip, valerian root, and honeysuckle mice in her later years.  We thought we'd share a video of a senior ladycat enjoying her nip for today's movie.

Sweet Praline will always be remembered with love and a smile.  When the pet psychic, Nancy, talked to Mom Paula a couple of months ago, she said Sweet Praline was still around and guiding Truffle and Brulee. Mom Paula asked if Sweet Praline talked to either of us and Nancy said she talked to Truffle all the time. We hope each of you will smile a little today as you watch Sweet Praline playing like there was no tomorrow.

We miss you, Sweet Praline!

Tough Therapist

I've worked hard to snoopervise Mom Paula with her exercises each day for her wrist and thumb.  I thought I was doing a pretty good job, but the human physical therapist doesn't agree.  Mom Paula has now developed a hard knot on her wrist and some of her strength has decreased over the past month.  She goes back to the doctor today.  It doesn't sound too good to me ...
Are you sure you did that correctly?

Growing Kitties

Mom Paula was "griping" this weekend about it being shedding season.  Brulee thinks she's trying to grow kitties.
 This smells familiar ...

Put it back!!!

The Dessert Sisters

Mom Paula found this graphic yesterday and thought it was purrfect for us!  Those chocolate truffles may taste delicious for the humans, but we're much better for the diet and figure.

Truffle Tuesday

Mom Paula is feeling so much better that she took a moment to pose with me for a selfie!

Sharing the Computer Desk

The Island Cats asked if we ever shared the computer desk yesterday.  Both of us don't usually try to sit in front of the computer monitor at the same time; but lately Brulee has started sitting on top of the laser printer while Truffle sits in front of the monitor.

Pee ess - Thank you so much for all of your thoughts, purrs, and prayers for Mom Paula with her recent illness.  Yesterday (Sunday) was the first day she felt human again in over a week.  That was a nasty tummy bug.

Pee ess 2 - We're doing a survey on our sidebar to decide if we should put together another calendar for the CB for 2015.  Please vote within the next week.

This Kong kick toy was ginormous compared to Baby Truffle.  Jacqueline and the cats from Jacqueline's Cat House sent it to us for our first Christmas in 2011.

Friday at the Movies: Bathtime 'Rasslin

Brulee is a spoiled little kitty.  She just loves to be pampered by her big sister and then just when Truffle thinks they are settling in for a little bathtime, Brulee reaches out and gives her a smack on the head.

Thankful Thursday

We are thankful that Mom Paula is almost back to normal (at least what is normal for her) and can once again serve our every wish and desire.
Time for you to take care of us again.  Open this treat jar!

We are also thankful for our special human friends in the CB.  We want to wish a belated Happy Birthday to Marg.  Mom Paula and Marg talk quite frequently on the phone.  We love you Auntie Marg!

Little Love Bug

While Truffle has been a little stinkpot this week scaring Mom Paula half to death, I've been a little angel; comforting and loving up on Mom Paula.  Here I am resting on the back of the couch that Truffle crawled under.

Trouble Truffle Tuesday

Well, Truffle really did it this time!!!  She almost gave Mom Paula a heart attack.  Here's the story from Mom Paula's perspective:

I've had a Lane recliner couch and love seat since moving back into my home 10 years ago.  I need the recliner because I'm so short that I can't sit down on either and be comfortable (and my legs stick straight out!).  Praline never gave me a problem with the recliner the whole time she was around it (7 years) and would rest on the footrest of the couch all the time.  When I got Truffle and Brulee, I was too afraid to raise the footrest because of the fear of either of the girls getting stuck under the couch or crushed by the metal frames. In fact, I didn't even try to raise the footrest until January this year (2 years later) because of the need to sleep on the couch for two months because of my shoulder surgery.
front of the couch (when Truffle was a baby, she could crawl under here)

I was very careful when I raised the footrest the first time.  Both of the girls came over and looked under, but didn't attempt to actually go under the couch, which surprised me.  I actually got down on the floor on "all fours" to inspect their view and realized there was very little space under there.  Now that I look at the space through this picture, I do see areas where curious kitties can get in.

I've been hoping Truffle or Brulee would eventually start resting on top of the footrest while I was sitting there because it was always so comforting when Angel Sweet Praline would do so.  To my surprise, Sunday night Truffle jumped on the footrest and settled down for the evening with me.  I was thrilled.
peaceful evening together on the footrest

I was still at home recuperating from the stomach bug Monday (yesterday).  I heard a scratching noise on the carpet and I looked for Brulee because she likes to scratch in the corners of the room on the carpet.  To my surprise she was laying on the back of the couch.  I called for Truffle and when she didn't respond, I put down the footrest and stood up hunting for her.  I even grabbed a treat bag and called her name and still no Truffle.  I don't know what made me look down, but I saw some white fur coming out from the back of the couch.  You won't see this in the picture below because I didn't dare waste time for a photo during this.
back of couch

I called Truffle's name and she didn't respond.  I even touched her fur and there was no "chirp" from her like usual. I became frantic!  I started to lift the back of the couch to let her crawl out, but then thought better of it because she still didn't move and I was afraid when I turned it over, she would be crushed by the metal framework and moving parts.  My only thought was to take the chance and lift the footrest again, hoping she wouldn't be injured or worse.

You can imagine how my heart was racing, tears were beginning to flow, and prayers went up to God.  I carefully lifted the footrest and out Truffle came!  You can imagine my relief.  I immediately checked her to make sure she was okay.   She didn't seem in any distress or pain and was moving great.  In fact, a few minutes later, she and Brulee were racing up the cat tree! Thankfully, Truffle appears fine!  It did teach me a very important lesson though.  I can't get complacent or lazy around this one.  I must always be aware of where she is.  She has a knack for getting into places she shouldn't and getting trapped (previous posts on the closet, the front door, and now the couch).  She's so darn fast!  I think my heart is still pounding!  My beautiful, but naughty, Truffle is still with us!
That was a very harrowing experience!

Photo Hunt: Family

Today's Photo Hunt theme is purrfect for us because today is 1000 posts we've done as a family!  Can you believe we've been posting that long?  We are a very happy family and hope we have many more posts and days together.

We wanted to do something really special for today, but Mom Paula has that nasty stomach virus.  We're even late posting this today.  We thought we'd also share that Angel Sweet Praline also made 1000 posts before we lost her in  April 2011.

Friday at the Movies: Nurse Truffle

Mom Paula has been in her brace for almost a month now.  She is trying to "wean" herself out of the brace, but her wrist hurts after about 30 minutes.

Truffle is a very good nurse and is doing her best to help Mom Paula's wrist get better.  You'll also notice that Mom Paula's pink claws are getting longer because she isn't using her hand.  We think it's time she had a nail trim!

Mom Paula Fell Hard

Mom Paula fell hard for Truffle when she saw this picture of her at 3 weeks of age. . .
Truffle - 3 weeks old

We fooled you, didn't we?  You thought Mom Paula had actually physically fallen again and hurt herself, didn't you?  April Fools!

Seriously, how could Mom Paula not pick Truffle when she saw this photo?

And for those of you who are curious, here's what Brulee looked like at 3 weeks old.
