Brulee is a little concerned that all of this stuff is in her way to getting on top of her box on top of the printer. Mom Paula better watch out because all it would take is a little whap and all of this stuff would be on the floor! MOL!

Beautiful and Smart
Brulee was helping Mom Paula go through some of her books and found this "thick" dissertation. Brulee is claiming it's hers because she found it and it proves that she's not only beautiful, but smart!
As a side note: we weren't around when Mom Paula wrote this. Sweet Praline was a kitten when Mom Paula began working on her Ph.D. Mom Paula says she's still paying for this book! MOL!

Easy Like Sunday
Mom Paula is taking a few days off to visit a friend out of town. She's hoping to get some rest and relief from a lot of stress she's been under the past few months. Unfortunately, she's also been experiencing vertigo. The doctor thinks it's due to stress, so we're hoping this little trip will help her get back to her normal (whatever that is) self again. In the meantime, we're taking it easy at the computer, waiting for her to get back.

Blue Buffalo Wilderness Treats Review
We were very excited to try out some new treats from chewy.com this month. We've never really eaten the Blue Buffalo treats or food, this was going to be interesting. Chewy.com sent us the Blue Buffalo Wilderness Chicken & Turkey Grain-free treats to review.
Brulee introducing the Blue Buffalo Wilderness treats
Brulee really loves these greats because they are a little larger in size and flat, so they are easy for her to chew. The Blue Wilderness Chicken & Turkey Grain-free Cat Treats are only 2 calories each and include rosemary to help freshen our breath (as if we have bad breath!). These treats are free from chicken or poultry by-product meals, artificial flavors and preservatives and have no corn, wheast, or soy. Best of all - they are made in the USA!
Soft, moist, and chewy! Truffle is very intrigued!
The ingredients are Chicken, Turkey, Whole Ground Potatoes, Vegetable Glycerine, Gelatin, Natural Flavor, Salt, Phosphoric Acid, Sorbic Acid, Citric Acid, Mixed Tocopherols (source of Vitamin E), Rosemary.
Truffle reaches out for one of these delicious treats
There are four different flavors of the Blue Buffalo Wilderness Grain-free Treats: Chicken & Salmon, chicken & duck, chicken & turkey, and chicken & trout. We don't usually eat anything with fish in it, but we're dying to try the chicken & duck. These delicious treats are currently on sale at chewy.com from $3.49-$3.99 per bag.
Truffle and Brulee
As usual, Truffle went crazy with these treats. She was even more excited because they were in a bag she could grab with her teeth and rip it open and carry it off. Mom Paula grabbed her before she could escape, but here's a short little video of Truffle getting into the bag.
We received these treats from chewy.com at no cost and were not compensated for our review. Our opinions are our own and we really loved these treats.
As you can see, Truffle is still biting into the bag to get to the treats.

Cat Lady Toddler
One of Mom Paula's colleagues and friends from work, Trena, shared this photo of her daughter, Olivia up in the cat tree with their cat, Angel. Trena says Olivia loves to climb up the cat tree and sleep with Angel.
Angel is 16 years old and has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). He is doing very well and has best buddies with Olivia, who is 2 1/2 years old.

Angel and Olivia (January 2012)
As you can see, Angel and Olivia are still getting along after 2 1/2 years together. Angel also lives with two woofies, so he's really doing well.

Thunder Boomers
Truffle heard some thunder boomers last night and crawled under the bed covers with Mom Paula.
This morning there were more thunder boomers and they shook the house, so both of us went UTB. We wouldn't even come out for a treat or to tell Mom Paula "good-bye".
The funny thing is that those noisy fire crackers didn't bother us at all, but the thunder boomers are a different story.

Friday at the Movies: Opposable Thumbs (or Lack Thereof)
Brulee was trying her hardest to pick up the pen but because there was a lack of opposable thumbs and Mom Paula just sat there laughing and videotaping, Brulee gave up. She's such a cutie, though.

Hakuna Matata
We have some special guests to introduce to you today. Meet Mr. Jones (cat) and Smokey (dog) who are our cousins who live with Mom Paula's sister. Smokey is still a puppy and came to live with Aunt Dorenda in December last year after they lost their Australian Shepherd, Foster, to cancer. Mr. Jones was rescued from a drain by Mom Paula's nephew, William, several years ago. Aunt Dorenda posted this picture of Smokey following Mr. Jones on her new fire pit wall and it reminded her of the song from the movie, The Lion King. Can't you just see them singing, "hakuna mata"?
We hope all of you have "no worries" today and enjoyed meeting our woofie and kitty cousins.

3rd Blogoversary
Brulee, Mom Paula, Truffle
Our first header designed by Ann at Zoolatry
Our first header was designed by the wonderful Ann of Zoolatry. Mom Paula had no idea which kittens would come to live with her, so Ann came up with the unique design using some kittens from the cattery with the "coming soon" subheading. The pictures in the heading aren't of us, but are some of our fur relatives. Ann has done some beautiful headers for us the past three years and we definitely wanted her to design our special header for celebrating 3 years. We couldn't have asked for a more purrfect header for this special occasion. Mom Paula sent Ann some ideas she had in her head along with numerous pictures and what Ann designed was exactly what Mom Paula had in mind. We LOVE it!
Angel Sweet Praline's last header designed by Ann
Just how did we get our name? We shared the story on our 2nd Blogoversary post last year. Our blog name and our given names (Truffle and Brulee) were all to honor the memory of Angel Sweet Praline. Sweet Praline was named after a New Orleans/French confection that is very sweet. Mom Paula actually researched names of New Orleans/French desserts on the Internet to find our names. When she saw us, she knew we were going to be "purrfect", so she combined purrfect with confections to make purrfections and added the word sweet in front to honor Sweet Praline.
Chey from The Cat Post Intelligencer
Our very first visitor was Chey from The Cat Post Intelligencer. Chey had been furiends with Angel Sweet Praline and Mom Paula had met Chey's mom, Bonnie, right before Sweet Praline left for the bridge. Mom Paula was able actually meet Chey, Ichiro, and Gemini the next year (even though Gemini never came out from under the night stand).
Brulee, Mom Paula, Truffle (2011)
We've gone through a lot the past 3 years. We've lost some close furiends, maintained furiendships with long-time furiends, and met some new furiends along the way. We've never missed a day of blogging (Mom Paula is a little ADD) and today marks 1,098 posts. We hope to continue blogging for many years to come. Many of our blogging furiends have left the blogging world for other social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. At least we're able to keep up with them through these methods, but we'll always love blogging first. We're so thankful for the Cat Blogosphere (CB) and those who started it and have kept it going (Robyn, ML, Sue, Mo, and ?). We wouldn't be where we are without everyone in the CB. Thank you for being our furiends!
We wanted to do something special for our 3rd Blogoversary, but Mom Paula's schedule just won't allow it. Instead, we're designing a 2015 weekly planner of the Cats of the CB this year. We hope to have it completed by the end of the month to submit it to the publisher and that it will be available to purchase by the end of August. We also plan on continuing to sponsor the Secret Paws in December. Thank you again for visiting us the past three years and we look forward to many more.

Friday at the Movies: Not a Paper Bag
You know how much we kitties love paper bags. We don't get too many of those around here, but the other night Mom Paula missed the trash can when she was throwing away a paper wrapper. Truffle tried her best to "dig in" to that paper wrapper.
Have a great weekend!

Truffle's Toehawk Toesies Tuesday
How's that for a title? Several years ago when Angel Sweet Praline was blogging, Tuesdays used to have themes of "Toesie Tuesday" and "Toehawk Tuesday". We don't have as many themes now to participate in, but when Mom Paula captured this picture of Truffle's cute little toehawk toesies and it was Tuesday, we just had to do it!
Makes you want to reach in and touch, doesn't it?

Surprise Package
Several months ago, Lou Belcher sponsored a 30 paintings in 30 days project where she painted 30 different cats. We were very lucky to be chosen as subjects. Truffle was featured on Day 26 and Brulee was featured on Day 21. Mom Paula wanted to purchase these beautiful works of art, but unfortunately, this was the month (September) when she injured her shoulder which required lots of medical treatments, PT, eventual surgery, and then the fall on the ice with new injuries and medical bills. We just couldn't afford the green papers to buy the portraits.
Brulee (left) and Truffle (right)
One day a couple of months ago, the man in the blue shorts delivered a package to our front porch. We had no idea what was in it because we hadn't ordered anything. To our delight, there were two paintings carefully wrapped inside the box with a note that said it was from a secret friend. This special gift brought tears to Mom Paula's eyes because they are so special and the person who sent them to us has our eternal gratitude.
Truffle checking out the portraits
This past year really has been rough for Mom Paula and it warms our heart to see her smile. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Lou for the painting the beautiful portraits and to our special friend (whoever you are) for sending the pictures to us.

Independence Day 2014
Happy 4th of July to all of our furiends in the USA. Our eyes are a little big in this graphic because of all of the fireworks in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, the general public is allowed to buy fireworks and "shoot them off" at home in SC. Luckily, we've had a little bit of rain the past couple of days with the hurricane off shore, but it's also been hot and is drying out quickly. It's really going to get loud today.
We don't know how long we're going to stay beside this window, but in the meantime, Happy 4th of July!
