Wellness Duos Review
Chewy.com contacted us about reviewing one of the Wellness brand canned foods: Wellness Divine Duos. We'd tried some of these flavors before (the one with duck in it), but chewy.com sent us a few canisters of the chicken pate/diced turkey flavor to sample.
Truffle eyeing the food
As we've stated before, we're a huge fan of the Wellness brand cat foods, especially the canned foods. We do eat this brand pretty regularly, although we tend to mix it up with other brands and flavors throughout the week, so we won't get bored. We tend to buy the shredded food because of Brulee's little mouth and how she eats. This food was a surprise for us in many ways.
When you first open the container, it doesn't look too appetizing. However, have your human turn the container upside down in the bowl and squeeze. When you lift the container, all of a sudden you have these delicious diced turkey morsels in gravy spilling over the top of the chicken pate.
As you can tell, Brulee really does like this food. She tends to lick all of the gravy off of the top first and then will eat most of the diced morsels. Whatever she leaves behind, Truffle will finish off. Mom Paula will split one container between the two of us because Truffle will push Brulee out of the way when it's time to eat. This way, she can make sure Brulee gets to eat her canned food each day.
The Wellness Divine Duos combine two tasty flavors and textures in one container. No matter which of the 5 flavor combinations you get, there is a savory pate topped with a second layer of tender cuts in gravy (if you turn the cup upside down before serving). The key benefits of the Wellness Divine Duos is that they are a grain-free recipe; have quality meats and wholesome vegetables; no wheat, corn, soy, or artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives; and the container is convenient, clean, and easy to open. The chicken pate/diced turkey mixture is currently selling for $37.99, which is a little more expensive than the chicken pate/diced duck ($32.99) that we've bought before. We don't know why there is a difference in price, but we do think the food is worth it. We continue to be pleased with the customer service, variety of products, and price of chewy.com.
We received these containers of Wellness Divine Duos from chewy.com free of charge for our review. We were not compensated for our opinion, which is always totally honest.
P.S. We finished our plates, so that should tell you the food is delicious.

Sweet Purrfections Nurses on Duty
We're hanging out in the top of our cat trees, keeping an eye on Mom Paula to make sure she rests. She went back to the doctor on Wednesday and she's now running a fever and her cough has gotten into her chest. She had to stay home with us on Christmas day instead of being with her human family. She's been sick since December 11. Poor Mom Paula.

Secret Paws Goodies
We were so excited when we found out Laila and Minchie were our Secret Paws. Many of you may not remember, but Laila and Minchie were Sweet Praline's Secret Paw the first year she participated 6 years ago. We thought we'd share a collage of our special presents. There was even a little something for Mom Paula.
Here's another short little video to show you a close up of us inspecting our goodies. As you can see, once Truffle discovered the treats, the ignored the nip nanner! MOL!

Impatient Truffle
Just as soon as Mom Paula opened our Secret Paws box, Truffle jumped right in the box and went for one particular package.
Truffle in box while Brulee watches
Truffle was determined to get this one special package. Just look at the teeth marks on the paper.
We thought we'd short a short little video to show you how determined Truffle was to get to this one special package. If you watch the video, you'll see what it was.

Can We Open It Now?
Only one kitty guessed correctly yesterday who our Secret Paw was. If you look really closely at the return address label, you'll see that our Secret Paw is Laila and Minchie from Cat-A-Holic. Now we're ready for Mom Paula to use those thumbs of hers and help us open this box!

Angel Sweet Praline's Gotcha Day
We're pausing today to remember Angel Sweet Praline's Gotcha Day. Even though she's been gone for 3 1/2 years, her spirit is definitely still with us. Wasn't she such a cute little kitten?

Where Are Our Treats?
This is the look we give Mom Paula first thing in the morning when she wakes up. First, we give her the look and then Truffle climbs all over her until Mom Paula opens the drawer and gives us a treat or two. She thought she was being smart by putting our treats in her bedside table. We have her trained, don't we?
Could you turn down these looks?

Sunday Selfies
Mom Paula decided to join Truffle for a Sunday Selfie (sponsored by The Cat on My Head) today. We think this is a beautiful photo of Truffle. Just look at her big green eyes. Mom Paula says to ignore her red tired eyes.

Let Us In
Quite a few boxes and bags have arrived at our house the past few days. Mom Paula has to put the plastic bags away because we love to lick on them which often leads to chewing on them. Truffle gave Mom Paula quite a scare last night. She thought Truffle was trying to get rid of a hair ball because she was hacking the previous day. When Mom Paula came home last night, she saw what she thought was a hairball on the wood floor. When she picked it up, she realized it was a piece of packing tape that had been on one of the boxes. Undoubtedly, Truffle chewed a piece off of one of the boxes. Mom Paula is watching her closely, but Truffle is eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom with no problems, so she appears to be okay. However, to keep this from happening again, especially during this holiday season with all of the packages, we were faced with this in our hallway.
Brulee: Why is this door closed? This is my room!
We can't understand why the entrance to our guest bedroom is closed. Brulee likes to sleep on top of the folded clothes on the bed (we know, they need to be washed again). Mom Paula says the door will stay closed until everything is wrapped and all of the bags, ribbons, and tape are put away. We have other ideas, though.
Brulee: Let me in!!!

Kitty Wrapping Paper
Look at the cute kitty wrapping paper we found to wrap our Secret Paws packages. We need to get everything boxed up and sent out this weekend.
We guess it does pay to fight the crowds at K-Mart and Walmart! Mom Paula just heard there was also some kitty paper at Michael's. Guess she's going there next.

Tiki Cat Review
We were given the opportunity from chewy.com to review some delicious new food this month from Tiki Cat. We'd heard about Tiki Cat when Mom Paula went to a specialty pet food store, but the only flavors the store had were fish and we tend to avoid too much fish. When we were contacted by chewy.com about testing this product, we discovered there were flavors other than fish, so we gladly said, "yes." We were thrilled to receive the Tiki Cat Gourmet Carnivore Variety Pack canned cat food to test out.
The flavors in the Tiki Cat Gourmet Carnivore Variety Pack are Beef & Liver (1), Beef Liver & Chicken (2), Beef Liver & Lamb (1), Bonito Tuna (1), Chicken & Liver (2), Chicken with Duck (2), Chicken with Turkey (2), Seabass (1), and Tilapia (1). Tiki Cat is from Petropics, which states that Tiki Cat Gourmet Whole Food was the first true gourmet cat food to hit the market, featuring grain-free, human grade, whole shredded or sliced meats and seafood. Petropics states that they use healthy broth, not gravy, to process their prevention and treatment formulas for all life stages, providing a food that meets the most restrictive diets prescribed by veterinarians today. The company states that this food is the lowest carbohydrate canned formulas on the market and is lower in carbohydrates than any raw diet.
We're always curious as to whether our little finicky eater, Brulee, will eat different varieties of canned food. The first flavor we tried (to be on the safe side) was the chicken with turkey. Just look at the delicious bowl of shredded chicken and turkey.
The canning partner is located in Thailand at an award winning Human-Grade canning plant. The plant is the #1 most sophisticated, state-of-the-art plan in the country. Petropics Gourmet Whole Foods stresses that even though their products are manufactured outside the U.S., the company is owned and operated in the United States. The U.S. Department of Commerce has registered the company as a U.S. company and promotes the company at international shows and trade events. All Tiki ingredients are USDA certified for Human consumption and all formulas are manufactured in a human-grade factory that only utilizes fresh, food-grade raw materials.
We know all of that stuff is important for the humans, but we just want to say that it is delicious! If you biggify the picture above, you'll see Brulee's little tongue lapping up the delicious chicken and turkey. Mom Paula then let us try the beef liver & lamb. It would be an understatement to say that Brulee LOVED this food. She dug right in and finished the entire bowl before Truffle. That was really amazing, considering she rarely finishes her food. We wish Mom Paula could have gotten a picture before Brulee licked off the food because it was all over her mouth because she devoured it so quickly. The photo below is a little blurry, but you can see how much Brulee liked it because of the empty bowl and her cute little tongue.
As you can see, Brulee even started looking over at Truffle's bowl to see if there was any more food.
This case of delicous food is currently on sale at chewy.com for $17.09, which is a great buy for 12 cans of delicious, grain-free, healthy food. There are many more flavors of Tiki Cat canned food and you can find them here. We only showed you photos of two of the flavors, but we loved every one of them. We'll definitely get some more of this food in the future. Mom Paula is still very impressed with how well Brulee liked it. Brulee's favorite was the fish flavors, but Mom Paula says she will limit how much of that we get. It goes without saying that Truffle ate each flavor with gusto. As always, chewy.com has excellent customer service and will ship products free if the total order is $49+.
We received this food from chewy.com at no cost for our honest review.
