Favorite Treats

We're very lucky that Mom Paula lets us eat treats and she's willing to try out lots of brands and flavors.  We received the Halo Liv-a-Littles freeze dried chicken treats from Chewy.com this month to review. We have to say that this is our most favorite treat.
 Brulee guarding her treats

Just look at these treats.  As soon as you open the jar (Mom Paula loves that they come in a jar), you can see that these treats are different.  They are 100% pure chicken breast  and are grain-free.  What's even nicer is that they are delicious treats for both cats and dogs.
Halo Liv-a-Little Treats

Brulee will even "fight" Truffle for these treats.  All Mom Paula has to do is unscrew the jar and we come running.  Mom Paula will break the larger pieces into little pieces for us to eat.  When the treats are all gone, Mom Paula saves the "treat dust" to sprinkle on top of the canned food when Brulee decides to be a little finicky.
Truffle eyeing the treat before she nabs it.

The Halo Liv-a-Little treats come in three flavors:  salmon, chicken, and beef.  The ingredients for the chicken breast are freeze-dried chicken breast and a marinade that is made up of sodium phosphate, salt, and carrageenan. The chicken treats are currently on sale for $8.92 on the chewy.com website.  We know this may sound a little expensive for a treat, but it does last a long time by breaking up the pieces and using the dust to sprinkle on food.
Brulee opening her little mouth wide to eat the Liv-a-Little treats.

We will definitely order more of the treats and keep them on our shopping list.  We like ordering from chewy.com because we can get great prices, the shipping is extremely quick, and there are discounts for orders $49+ and for autoship.

Something Interesting

There's something interesting up there and I want to see what it is!

We also want to say Happy 82nd birthday to our Grandpa Paul.

Sunday Selfie

Truffle is still confused about the smaller computer.  She prefers the desktop because she has room to sleep in front of Mom Paula when she's working.  Truffle wouldn't even cooperate for her Sunday Selfie (sponsored by The Cat on My Head).  Have a wonderful, restful, easy Sunday.
This is as good as you're going to get until I get my big computer back!

Two Ps in a Pod

Truffle appears to like the top of our Sleepypod while Brulee is checking out the bottom.  So, you have two Persians in a Sleepypod (two peas in a pod).  What could be better!

Pawprints to My Heart

Brulee is hanging out on the back of her chair enjoying the new tote bag we received from Only Natural Pet. Mom Paula says the saying on the tote bag is purrfect.

Bandit had a couple of small "poops" yesterday.  Mom Paula is staying with him this weekend so we'll give you updates this weekend.

Truffle's Tunnel

Truffle wants to know why her tunnel is stuck in the guest bedroom and not in the living room where it's supposed to be.

Update on Bandit:  He's acting a little better and had a little poop, but still isn't out of the woods yet. Thank you for your purrs, woofs, and prayers.  Mom Paula is scheduled to dog sit Bandit this weekend because Grandma Faye and Grandpa Paul are going out of town.  We sure hope he's better soon.

Purring for Bandit

We were going to give you a summary of Truffle's vet visit yesterday, but we're really worried about our woofie cousin, Bandit.  Bandit belongs to Grandma Faye and he's the first pet she's ever had. Bandit is a Shih Tzu mix and is 7 years old.  Bandit had to be rushed to the emergency vet last Friday because of vomiting and an inability to poop.  The vet said his colon was packed.  They gave him some medicine and told Grandma Faye to feed him some pumpkin.  They had to take Bandit back to the vet yesterday because he's still having problems and they may want to do surgery on him. Grandma Faye loves Bandit but she said she can't afford to pay for any surgery.  Please purr, woof, and pray that Bandit is better really soon.  We don't want to lose him.

Good News, Bad News

The good news is that we got a new carrier, the Sleepypod!  The bad news is that Truffle had to take a trip in it yesterday to go to the vet.  The good news is that Truffle had a wonderful checkup.  The bad news is that the vet stuck her with a needle.  We'll tell you more about the vet visit with more photos tomorrow.
Just wait...

Feline Power Food™ #PawNatural

This post is sponsored by Only Natural Pet, and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Only Natural Pet Feline PowerFood , but Sweet Purrfections only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. Only Natural Pet is not responsible for the content of this article.
Only Natural Pet® is launching a brand new natural cat food that is made in the USA.  The new cat food is a grain-free kibble called Feline PowerFood™ that is formulated by Dr. Jean Hofve, a holistic vet, and is the culmination of over 10 years of experience in the natural pet food industry. This new kibble will be available to the public on April 1, 2015, but we were allowed to try out a sample early to let you know what we think about it.  There are two flavors of the Feline PowerFood™:  Fish and Fowl Dinner and Poultry Dinner.  We received the Fish and Fowl Dinner Flavor to sample.
Hurry up and open this bag so we can taste the Feline PowerFood

The new Feline PowerFood™ uses fresh meat as the #1 ingredient and it's made with cage-free chicken and turkey raised naturally without antibiotics or hormones.  The kibble is packed with protein, amino acids, and essential fatty acids and is grain-free and is a highly digestible diet designed for cat's optimal health.  In the past, Truffle has problems digesting kibble that is made from fish, so we were very interested to see how her sensitive tummy would handle the fish and fowl dinner.  We're very happy to say that not only did Truffle love the taste of this new food, but she hasn't had any allergic reactions to the fish in the kibble.
As you can tell, Truffle is "digging" the new cat kibble.
Mom Paula caught her midstream eating the delicious and allergy-friendly cat food.

Each piece of kibble is infused with Only Natural Pet's proprietary PowerBoost™, a raw, freeze-dried blend of superfoods like green lipped mussels, sea cucumbers, probiotics and pumpkin.  Mom Paula says she could probably even eat this new food because is is grain, corn, wheat, oat, and soy free and made with gluten-free ingredients.

You're probably wondering how Brulee did because we always talk about how she eats kibble differently because of her little flat face.  At first Mom Paula gave Brulee some kibble directly from her hand (like treats) and the put some in a small bowl.  It was so funny watching Brulee eat the kibble because she actually opened her little mouth and tried to grab pieces of kibble in her mouth because she liked it so much.  Of course, there was a lot of kibble on the floor, but Truffle helped her clean that up.
You can tell that Brulee loves the Feline Powerfood because her cute little pink tongue is licking her lips.
She ate every last morsel.

The Feline PowerFood™ is available to preorder by going to the Only Natural Pet website here.  According to the website, the food will be available for shipping May 19, 2015.  If you want to try out a sample bag before purchasing the 10 lb bag, Only Natural Pet is offering a sample 1 lb bag for $1.99.  The Feline PowerFood will be available to purchase exclusively on www.onlynaturalpet.com, www.pet360.com, and www.petfooddirect.com on April 1, 2015.

We strongly encourage each of you to try this food because we believe you'll love it and your humans will appreciate how healthy it is.  As always, you should have plenty of fresh water for your kitties when feeding dry kibble.

You can visit OnlyNatural Pet on their website to find out about all the animal products they sell for dogs and cats.  Additionally you can follow them on their social media sites:

UPDATE: Sources say that because of the huge demand for pre-orders, the ship date has been pushed back to May. Keep  an eye on the site at the link above for more details about when you can get your tasty food!

Sunday Selfie

Brulee wasn't too happy about getting her photo taken today for The Cat on My Head's Sunday Selfie, but she posed for a few short seconds.  Don't you just love that Persian smile?

Caturday Art

We've enjoyed some nice weather the past week and spent a lot of our time on our cat tree in front of the window.  For today's Caturday Art Hop (sponsored by Athena and Marie), we used the Comic Book Style in LunaPic.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of our furriends and their humans.  We aren't Irish, but we love how all the green brings out our eyes.

Caturday Art Hop

We are participating in the Caturday Art Hop today which is sponsored by Athena and Marie.  Since we don't have our desktop, we're limited on what programs we have to try out, so we experimented with several different effects on PicMonkey.  Brulee was a little blurry in the original photo (she's always moving) but the photo effects really are a great way to show a beautiful photo even if it isn't the clearest picture.

Original photo:

Caturday Art Project.  We forgot how many different effects we used because we kept clicking on buttons until we found something we liked.

Computer Woes

We've been without our desktop computer for two weeks now.  Luckily, Mom Paula still has a laptop computer and had purchased a subscription with Carbonite, so we have access to our photos.  Truffle doesn't quite know what to do since she doesn't have the desk to sit on in front of the monitor.  We've ordered a new computer, but it won't be here for another week.
Where's my desk space?

Throwback Thursday

We thought we'd give you a little peek back to November 2011 when Brulee came to live with us.
Brulee has never shown any fear of Truffle and loved to "rassle.

Cats are #CrateHappyPets

This post is sponsored by PetSmart and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network.  I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Containment Products and Education for your pet but Sweet Purrfections only shares information I feel is relevant to my readers.  PetSmart is not responsible for the content of this article.

Do you have a new kitten or cat in your household?  Do you travel with your pet on vacations or to the vet?  Does your pet need a quiet, secure place to rest at home?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should consider purchasing a carrier and PetSmart® is great place to begin your shopping.  When you enter your local PetSmart to purchase a carrier, you should check out the carriers in both the dog and cat sections because you can find great carriers for your special fur child in each.  We're very lucky that we have several PetSmart stores within 15 miles from our home. To find your local PetSmart, visit here.
Hard Carriers in the Dog Section

Soft-sided Cat Carriers in the Cat Section

To get your kitten/cat comfortable with your chosen carrier, place the carrier out in a comfortable and familiar location in your house.  I initially put the carrier on the floor in the bedroom and the living room, so Truffle and Brulee could enter it without the pressure and stress of traveling to the vet.  I recommend you put a comfortable pad/blanket in the carrier and possibly add some catnip or a favorite toy.
Truffle checking out her plastic carrier.

One thing I did to help with pet safety with the carrier was to purchase nylon cable tags (see the side of the carrier in the photos) to insert them in the holes on the side so the carrier, so it wouldn't fall apart accidentally when carried from the house to the car to the vet.  Brulee and Truffle will play on and inside the carrier when I leave it in the living room.  This way, their smells are around the carrier and they feel safe and secure in the comfortable environment.
Truffle and Brulee playing in their carrier

Anytime you travel with your cat, she should be in some type of carrier for the safety of both of you . An unsecured cat may distract the driver or interfere with driving.  You should choose a carrier that allows your cat to stand up and turn around comfortably, yet doesn't provide too much room for extra movement.  You should always make sure the carrier is securely fastened to the seat with a seat belt and that all latches are tightly closed.   I don't take Truffle and Brulee on trips with me, but for those of you who do, you can find tips for traveling with  your cats here.  Brulee prefers her hard-sided carrier made by Petmate.  PetSmart has numerous types of Petmate carriers and some are currently on sale, so be sure to visit your local store or shop online.
Brulee resting safely in her hard-sided Petmate carrier in the car.

Brulee knows that she is safe inside her carrier in the waiting room at the vet.

Truffle prefers a soft-sided carrier with mesh on the sides to she can see out.  She isn't as comfortable traveling in the car, but as long as she can look around all sides and get plenty of ventilation, she's okay, even if she does sing the entire trip.  I also need a carrier that opens from the top because Truffle gets really nervous at the vet and doesn't like to come out of the carrier.  A carrier that opens from the top makes it much easier to get her out and put her back in the carrier.
Truffle's fashionable soft-sided carrier.

A feline pet carrier is an essential piece of equipment for a cat owner and ensures that your cat arrives at her destination happily and safely.

HBO Words

We've decided we need to hide because we're hearing a lot of HBO words in our house.  The people who have the extended warranty on our computer says it will cost more to fix the computer than to just pay us the money back.  We're lucky we have all of our pictures and documents backed up on Carbonite, but we'll probably lose all of our email file folders (Secret Paws, calendars, etc.) because Mom Paula has those forwarded to Outlook.  This means we'll be without our big computer for at least another week.  Mom Paula isn't happy and says she won't buy another HP computer because this one was less than two years old.
We don't like HBO words!

The Waiting is Over

Finally!  Waiting for Mom Paula to come home is finally over.  Mom Paula has been out of town 8 days during the last two weeks.  She's finally home for a while.  The next time she's scheduled to travel is for BlogPaws.  We think we're going to sit on her to keep her home for a while.

Uneasy Sunday

Lately, we don't know if we're coming or going because Mom Paula is traveling for work and we've been left alone again.  Lucky for us, Grandma Faye is watching out for us and not the cat sitter, but we'd still rather have Mom Paula home with us.
