HBO Words
We've decided we need to hide because we're hearing a lot of HBO words in our house. The people who have the extended warranty on our computer says it will cost more to fix the computer than to just pay us the money back. We're lucky we have all of our pictures and documents backed up on Carbonite, but we'll probably lose all of our email file folders (Secret Paws, calendars, etc.) because Mom Paula has those forwarded to Outlook. This means we'll be without our big computer for at least another week. Mom Paula isn't happy and says she won't buy another HP computer because this one was less than two years old.

Well, that just is awful!!!
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, we've always had good luck with Dell.
We loved Dell computers but didn't have the green papers to get a Dell the last time. That's probably what we'll get once we get the refund.
DeleteFrustrating! Momma's old HP did some really weird stuff to her too. She's had pretty good luck with Apple.
ReplyDeleteWe've about crapped out our Dell, but it's been a good one. Good luck to Mom Paula, these types of things can be SO aggravating!
ReplyDelete(And cover your ears, girls!)
Changing computers is a bummer. Mom did that a couple of months ago and she lost all her old emails too (she uses Outlook too).

I don't blame your human for all her HBO words! My human would be AT LEAST as mad if she had the same problem! If you are a PC household, it sounds like Dell is the way to go (we are a Mac family, so we don't know a lot about PCs).
ReplyDeleteThere would be a lot of HBO words around here, too.
ReplyDeleteOutlook has files, too, so if Carbonite is backing up everything, there ought to be an Outlook .pst file with those folders backed up, shouldn't there? The head peep has heard that carbonite is very slow to restore but also very effective, so we are crossing our paws for your files.
Ugh! That just stinks. We're glad you still have all your photos and stuff...but we hope you can find a way to save your email files.
ReplyDeleteMy mom feels for you !
ReplyDeleteOur com has a trouble too
Good luck for all your mom plans to do
Paw crossed & purrs
That is very very maddening.
ReplyDeleteWe're so sorry your Mom has possibly lost all her email folders - that's a real pig.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
The Staff says she had problems with HP :( Let's hope things get sorted soon, so you don't have to hear such words!! xx
ReplyDeleteI have Outlook on my laptop but don't use it for important email. You've just found out the reason why...
ReplyDeleteI have Outlook but never set it up. I've had gmail since 2003 and every file I've ever saved and it's a lot are all still there even though I've been through a dozen computers since. I'm not saying it's perfect. Also you can put all of your documents in DropBox for free.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your advice. We're just so used to Outlook, but will consider changing in the near future.
DeleteOh yea, the HBO words would be flying here too!
ReplyDeleteyep - those computers make mom use HBO werds too. mom uses hotmail for our email since it saves online
ReplyDeleteOh no, computer problems make HBO words fly here too ! We don't know about PC, Mum is born with Mac (or almost), and saves with Time Machine every day. We're sorry for your mom ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteMum won't buy either Dell or HP as they all seem to break after a couple of years. The one she has now ASUS, not a lick of issues and she has had it four years now. She got it through a local computer shop, not a big store. Maybe your mum can find one like that by you.
ReplyDeleteWe've thought about an ASUS, but have always had the best luck with Dell. We'll definitely do a lot of research to see what the best we can get with the amount of green papers we have available.
DeleteHBO words are not good, but you sure cannot blame Mom Paula under the circumstances. Hope she can some how get all the files. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! We cannot believe Mom Paula would use HBO words! She's such a refined southern gal! MOL
