PetSafe® is sponsoring Pet Hydration Awareness Month during the month of July to help pet parents become more aware of the importance of keeping their pets hydrated. Pets need one ounce of water per pound of body weight each day for their overall health and well-being. Water supports vital organ functions such as digestion and waste removal. Did you know that a pet's body is made up of 80% water? If this percentage decreases because of a lower intake of water, your pet can become dehydrated. It's very important that pets have access to clean, fresh water. One way to ensure your pets, especially cats, gets enough water is to use a pet fountain. Many cats prefer drinking from moving water and a pet fountain gives them filtered and oxygenated water which may improve the taste and encourages your pet to drink more. You can read more about proper pet hydration by visiting here.

We've had pet fountains since we were little bitty kittens, so we're used to using them. There are multiple types of fountains on the market and you need to choose which is appropriate for your cat. Truffle prefers drinking from the water flow of the fountain while Brulee prefers drinking from the bowl, so we like to find fountains that will provide both. We received a Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain to review.
According to the website, The Pagoda fountain continuously recirculates 70 ounces of fresh, filtered water. Best of all, the stylish ceramic design is easy to clean and looks great in your home. The upper and lower dishes provide two drinking areas for pets, and the patented dual free-falling streams aerate the water for freshness, which encourages your pet to drink more." The fountain comes in four beautiful colors: Himalayan Blue, Red, Taupe, and White.

We chose the red because there are a lot of red Gamecock items in our house and we thought it would blend with the decor. It was very simple to assemble and as soon as we plugged it in, the water began to flow.
The fountain is very quiet. The only sound we hear is the water flowing. There is no annoying sound from the pump, which we've experienced with past fountains. Mom Paula likes that it is ceramic, which will prevent a build-up of bacteria that can cause feline acne on our chins. The fountain is very beautiful and we look forward to using it in the days to come.
Here's the exciting part. Not only did we get a fountain to review, the nice people at PetSafe are allowing us to give one away to our special furriends. You may choose the color you'd prefer if you were to win and PetSafe will ship it directly to you. This give-away is only available to our furriends to live in the United States. The give-away will run until July 14, 2015, so be sure to enter soon!

We already have several fountains from Petsafe so we won't enter but wanted to add how much we love them. Cool graphic too!
ReplyDeleteMom was just looking at this fountain today because the one we have right now has a lot of hard water build up on it. We would love to win a blue one.
ReplyDeleteCody and Gracie
Been looking for a new fountain. Really like the color choices available. Toss up between the white and the tan.
ReplyDeleteGreat infographic! What a great fountain...love the colors - red is pretty cool! Our rehabilitated-adopted feral kitty would love it! Thanks for a great review and for hosting the (p)awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteGreat info. We have four water stations for the pets with fresh water every day, but not a fountain. I really like the red one.

I love the Pagoda, and while it does not involve sports, red is one of my human's favorite colors!
ReplyDeleteWe like the blue fountain! We haven't had a fountain in the house in years, not since the previous generation of cats had an all-plastic one that didn't last, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteWe have a pagoda fountain and we love it. We have a white one...but the red one is very nice too. If we win one, we'll donate it to our local rescue group.
ReplyDeleteOh my, mom is always watching our water intake, and the chart is very helpful. We have always wanted our own fountain, if we win we'd love a white one cause it would match our kitchen nicely! all our paws are crossed!
ReplyDeleteWe would love to win the blue one, but any color is great- we like that design.
ReplyDeleteOh that looks very exciting!
ReplyDeleteOh and now I need to chose a color--blue to match my eyes of course...
ReplyDeleteWe have multiple fountains here too and they are rather popular!
ReplyDeleteIs that a chocolately tan color? That would blend in with our "mop boards". Personally I like the blue.
ReplyDeleteThese fountains look so cool! Cinco and Manna have never had a fountain and I was thinking of trying it out with them. This would be purrrfect!
ReplyDelete-Purrs from your friends at www.PlayfulKitty.net
Great infographic ! The fountain is beautiful, that's a pawsome giveaway : good luck to our US friends ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteThe fountains are lovely. I don't know if my kitties would drink from a fountain or just play with it. If I win, I'd get either the blue or maybe the white one. Have to give the kitties bottle water since we have such hard water here for the fountains.
ReplyDeleteGreat information, girls! We have a Pagoda Fountain. The Mom loves it, but we won't drink from it. The sound from the falling water scares us. I know, right? A bunch of scaredy cats we are. Anyway, thanks for the great info and good lucky to everyone who enters your awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWe love our fountain, too, especially Moosey and Zoe. Ours is downstairs, and we'd love to have one for the upstairs as well.
ReplyDeleteOh, and we like the white one the best. Thanks, sweet pals! :)
ReplyDeleteWe had a fountain we liked once, but TBT couldnt keep the plastic parts clean. A ceramic one woukld be great. If we are lucky enought to win one, we would love the bloo color!
ReplyDeleteThe blue would be fab for my Dexter. We love these fountains for encouraging drinking more.
ReplyDeleteI like the taupe one for Yoshi, These are so nice and classy looking.
ReplyDeleteWe like how ya'll posed with the fountains. Myst thinks the blue one might match her eyes so it is her favorite.
ReplyDeleteI think I like the red fountain or maybe purple.
ReplyDeleteThe biege wuld match the condo decor but since it will be in Pop’s room, I like the red.
ReplyDeleteI like the blue one. We have a boy cat AND my kitchen is primarily blue! So it would match nicely.

ReplyDeleteThat's a really cool fountain! We don't have a fountain yet but we've been telling our mommy for years that we need one. *sigh* If we won we'd get a red one too because it'd go great in our house!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pawsome giveaway! Mom had been wanting to get us a fountain. I love all the colors but think I would choose the white one.
ReplyDeleteWE love the color, it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe motor just died on our current fountain, so we would really like to win this. If we did, we would like taupe. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteI like the blue one! Thanks for the chance!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the red because it really stands out :) I love the cool design of this fountain too!
ReplyDeleteHimalayan Blue,
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win a red one for the room we're catifying at the PAWS shelter! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWe would love to have the Himalayan Blue one in our home. We has one of the plastic 360s so we know we like the fountains and since Socks suffers from feline acne we thinks upgrading to the ceramic one (which is a lot prettier too) would help with that.
ReplyDeleteThis looks really great! We entered because Mommy has been wanting to get us a fountain forever.
ReplyDeleteI love the red.
ReplyDeleteIt's my favorite color and matches my kitchen ;)
