Brulee watching the dragonfly |
Mom Paula attended Global Pet Expo 2016 in March to see all of the wonderful products for cats. She had a great time visiting with the representatives from PetSafe® and we were tickled pink that she brought one of the new interactive cat toys home for us to try out. The Flitter Cat Toy is a battery operated teaser toy that has a dragonfly attached to each end. The toy goes round and round in a random motion that entices even the most "bored" kitty. When the Flitter toy is turned on, the movements are random, which help keep us engaged and the dangly dragonfly teasers are the purrfect bait. The dragonflies also make a cool noise that attracts our attention when we're in a different part of the house.

Truffle waits for the dragon fly to reach her |
The Flitter cat toy come disassembled in a small box. There are four basic parts: The base, two teaser arms and the base legs. It was pretty simple to put together and Mom Paula had it ready for us in less than 5 minutes. Before you can turn it on, you'll need to pop in three AA batteries (not included). Once it's turned on, it will run for approximately 10-15 minutes.
We really like this toy because both of us can play with it at the same time since there are two dangly dragonflies attached. If you really want to be entertained throughout the day, there is a "Play While You Are Away" mode which will turn on about three different times about two hours apart. We enjoyed this feature on other PetSafe automated cat toys we've had. Mom Paula recommends you monitor how your cats react to the toy before using this mode. We love to play with it even when it isn't moving and so far the dragonflies have remained intact.

Truffle captures the dragonfly |
The video below shows both of us interacting with the Flitter. Mom Paula couldn't capture both of us playing with it at the same time, but there are snippets of us playing with the dragonflies when the toy is turn on and off. Truffle can be pretty rough with a toy (for her small size) and the Flitter has survived. The dragonflies are attached with string, so please monitor your cats closely before leaving them alone with it.
PetSafe® has been making amazing interactive pet products for over twenty years. You can find out more about the Flitter Cat Toy and other wonderful products by visiting their website. The Flitter Cat Toy retails for $29.99 and shipping is free for orders over $50.

ReplyDeleteThe dragonflies look like fun!
ReplyDeleteWe also got this toy to review and it really is a lot of fun. We won't enter the giveaway...but good luck to all that enter. And whoever wins will have one happy cat!
ReplyDeleteThe thing we like best is the dragonflies! They are our favorites!
ReplyDeleteOh my mouses! What a great looking toy.
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Seville
My favorite thing is that my Meow can keep herself entertained without me having to hold the toy for her!
ReplyDeleteOh this looks like fun! It would either entertain Ichiro or scare him at random times during the day! HA HA HA!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun looking toy! I like that it moves on its own, but the cats seem to like it when it is off too!
ReplyDeleteThis toy looks really cool. I wish the giveaway was international :(
ReplyDeleteRosa @ Cat Lady Confidential
Best thing? It's free if I win it! Just kidding... it's random. That's important.
ReplyDeleteOMG! This looks like a lot of fun for kitties. My one kitty would be rough, just like Truffle. I think this would work nicely for him. My other two kitties would be more playful, less chewy. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat I like best about this toy is that it would keep our cats occupied while I was busy, without needing me to do anything. While I love dangling the wand toys and moving the laser light around the room for them, they'd have me do it all day long and I'd get nothing else done.
ReplyDeleteThat toy looks like so much fun!!! Mudpie desperately needs a PetSafe interactive toy in her collection.
ReplyDeleteOooh, my Cheshire would love this toy! And his cousin would want to play with it too!
ReplyDeletePAWSOME! We want one of those! BTW, 15 minutes battery use sounds like a great use of recharagable batteries...
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this for my cats to chase and lazy me won;t have to move a wand toy for them.
ReplyDeleteThat toy looks like fun ! Good luck to our US friends ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteThat sure looks like a fun kitty-kat toy!
ReplyDeleteI like that it looks like a toy my cat would enjoy although it is definitely something he'd have to play with in front of me because he loves string and I know he'd swat those little bugs into his mouth and try to chew the string and eat them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool looking toy! I could see my cat Lloyd having a great time with this.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun toy! I didn't enter the giveaway since I don't have a cat. I have a dog who I am convinced is a cat trapped in a dog body, lol. He'd probably love this toy but I doubt it'd last him long. He's great at destroying stuff...in that way I guess he is like a dog!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like it would be super fun AND entertaining for the kitties!
ReplyDeleteOh, now Karma wants one. I'd have to keep it away from Magical-Dawg, though.
ReplyDeleteThis toy looks amazing
ReplyDeleteI think Mr. N would enjoy playing with it! He does have quite a bit of prey drive.
ReplyDeleteI'm so looking for this when I get foster kittens this summer. I just have to figure out a way to keep my ginger tabby from disassembling it and ruining everyone's fun!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if my cat would like this. He doesn't play that much, but every now and then something sparks his interest. It looks like a great design.
ReplyDeleteWe really, really, really want one of these. Astrid is our resident fly and bug catcher. Mom knows she'd love it. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun! We're pretty sure Zoe and Gracie would enjoy catching those dragonflies. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun- my cat Nala would have loved it. Kilo the Pug would love it too but he is a hefty little thug pug.
ReplyDeleteI love the video - it's always nice to see a toy in action and cats enjoying themselves.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool. Thanks for the giveaway
ReplyDeleteOoooooh. I like this one. MY cat may like this toy too.
ReplyDeleteChristie from lifewithbeagle.com

I like that there is a mode that lets the kitties play when I am not here. The boys need interactive toys to keep them busy and out of trouble
ReplyDeletelewislibrary4052(at) hotmail(dot)com
I like how it helps keep cats busy when left alone
