Grandma Faye and Grandpa Paul came over for a few hours this weekend to help Mom Paula put together some of the items for our upcoming giveaways. Some of you may remember that Grandma Faye has always been afraid of cats and would never even pet Sweet Praline. Grandma Faye has been around us since we were kittens and even went down to meet us in Mt. Pleasant, SC before we came to live with Mom Paula where she was surrounded by cats and kittens. She made an effort to come around often so we could get used to her and eventually she began picking us up and petting us. Grandma Faye is much more comfortable with us now and likes to pet us and talk to us. She's even our kitty sitter when Mom Paula goes out of town. The interesting thing is that Truffle loves Grandma Faye and will let her pick her up for a few minutes.

Don't you wonder what the two of them were talking about? |
Mom Paula - My mom never grew up with pets and was always afraid of both dogs and cats until she got her first dog, Bandit, several years ago. Mom has become more comfortable with the girls and they with her. I thought this photo was a beautiful moment between Mom and Truffle that truly showed trust and love.

ReplyDeleteThat is sweet. My Grampie preferred dogs, but did OK with us felines. He wouldn't pick us up, but if we sat by him he was OK with that.
