None of Mom Paula's 4 cats have been lap cats. Truffle likes to sleep near Mom Paula and will tolerate being held for a short time, but has never climbed onto her lap to nap. Brulee likes to be near Mom Paula and will climb into her lap only when Mom Paula is in bed and only on Brulee's terms. Recently, Truffle has climbed onto Mom Paula's lap while she is watching TV and will settle in making biscuits (which she hasn't done), and take a long nap. Mom Paula was so thrilled that she didn't move for over an hour because she didn't want Truffle to leave. This is occurring a little more frequently, but only on Truffle's terms. Mom Paula is very thankful she is getting a lap kitty. Mom Paula especially loves it when she wakes up from a nap in the chair and realizes that Truffle joined her on the lap for the nap.

Well it's about time you found the wonders of the lap (and how nice and toasty they can be!)
ReplyDeleteawww - those are the best naps when you have company
ReplyDeleteLap cats are the best. I've found it's impossible to be anything other than content and relaxed when there's a cat on my lap.
ReplyDeleteThat is sweet. Phoebe is almost 15 and only in the past year does she like to lean next to us ( still no lap).
ReplyDeleteLab can be a wonderful thing indeed! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteMy human has never had lap cats... but that is because she is fidgety and her lap never stays still! So it is her own fault.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a lap cat, but Crockett is.
ReplyDeleteYour Mom is very lucky that she has a new lap kitty!
ReplyDeleteThat's fabulous! We're all lap kitties here.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
You're a good girl, Truffle.
ReplyDeleteSome of us are and some of us aren't lapcats! MOL
ReplyDeleteTruffles mew look gorgeous today!
Happy St Patrick's Day!

How sweet! Mommy thinks that some day Lexy will do that. I don't want to burst her bubble.
ReplyDeleteMost of my cats have been "I love to sit next to you, but not on you, but I'm happy to sleep on your chest until you can't breath."
ReplyDeleteI love you reference to "making biscuits"! That's just what my mother used to say when I was a kid! I also had a cat just like yours but black. Naptime is the best!
ReplyDeleteMr. N will climb into your lap quite often but he usually doesn't stay there for very long.
ReplyDeleteRosie is definitely a lap cat, but Moo Shu is not. Moo Shu will sleep right next to me - as long as I stay very still and if I move she usually runs away. Glad Truffle is starting to come into your lap more frequently.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! I once had a lap cat, thankfully it was before I had any dogs because I know that would join her! Hope your having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, there is nothing like the warmth of a kitty on your lap
ReplyDeleteaw.... lap times the best.
ReplyDeleteAww ... it's all fun and games until you get a lap Rottweiler ;-)
ReplyDeleteYay for snuggles, even if it's on someone else's terms! Embrace the snuggle for me, since I'm too allergic to cats to be able to savor those moments...
ReplyDeleteOh this is brilliant to see. Yes - a FABulous Picture indeed. * Quiet cheer *
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet! My mom does the same thing about not moving when her cat is in her lap. I do the same for my dog, Dexter. He's not a lap dog either. I love the time he chooses to snuggle.
ReplyDeleteTruffle looks so snuggly and gorgeous- glad she is becoming a lap cat. Kilo the Pug is definitely a lap dog. He does not give me a choice and will take over my knew and often wants to be help and cuddled. Lucky I work from home a lot.
ReplyDeleteAwww! I'm so happy that Truffle is becoming a lap kitty (at least once in a while). That was really nice of her. I have trouble deciding to get up when my kitties choose to sit in my lap too. Cinco was a lap cat, but neither Manna or Dexter really are. I miss having a lap cat!
ReplyDelete-Purrs from your friends at www.PlayfulKitty.net
Lap cats are awesome! Our cat is much more likely to climb into my lap in the winter. He has a lot of competition with two of my dogs, but every now and then, he claims it. But like Truffle, it is always on his terms!
ReplyDeleteThere are few things in life nicer than a good snuggle with a happy pet. Both my dogs are champion cuddles and it's my favourite part of any day when they snuggle up. I so wish there was a dog equivalent to the purr though! There's nothing quite as satisfying as a cat purring in your lap!
ReplyDeleteAww, that's so wonderful! That is so interesting Truffle would start sitting in your lap at this stage of the game. I would have thought cats either are or are not lap kitties! Now that you've retired, you'll have more time for Truffle & you to nap together.
ReplyDeleteLove & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
Woohoo, Truffle! Being a lap kitty is great! 5 of our 6 are lap cats, and Caster is steadily becoming one more and more by the day! Like Truffle, he has just recently started being more cuddly. Here's to hoping they both continue with this trend!
ReplyDeleteI love it when kitties decide to trust you enough for cuddles like this! Provided, of course, they understand you can't always do it on your time.
ReplyDeleteWhich they don't always understand.
