Truffle after the fireworks |
We have a feeling there are going to be several more nights of fireworks and even thunderstorms. Truffle didn't used to be afraid of loud noises, but something must have spooked her a couple of years ago, because now she takes off at the first clap of thunder or bang of fireworks.
You can see more Sunday Selfies at The Cat on My Head.
I empathize with Truffle and all the other animals, I hate the thunderstorms and fireworks too. At least I can wear headphones. :(
ReplyDeleteWe know that all too well beautiful Truffle and we're praying for rain!
ReplyDeleteTruffle they've been shooting off fireworks for about week around our house. But like you last night being a Saturday night I guess, too many of them had to get a head start on the 4th. We know like you we have firework tents all around, so these foolish humans will just go and buy more to set off. WE hope it rains all night! Great selfie of you!
ReplyDeleteWhat big eyes you have. We don't like the firecrackers around here either. They are loud
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely selfie. We don't get fireworks too close to us.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't humans realize just how sensitive animal ears are? It HURTS to hear these loud noises on top of being scary.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry to hear Truffle had such a difficult evening. Technically, fireworks are illegal around here, but a few people always set off some firecrackers. It doesn't bother our animals, but it annoys me!
ReplyDeleteWe love your good looking selfie. We don't like the booms either. We used to run under the couch but after discussion decided to run in and be with Dad. He will make sure we are safe. Your Mom will keep you safe too. Purrs
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July

We hate fireworks too. So far we've only heard a little but we know it's coming.
ReplyDeleteNow I can't say I blame her, those stupid banging things are, well just stupid. I'd rather the peeps spent the money wasted on something worthwhile, and whilst I wouldn't say know to more cream, I sure think there are folks that could do with some extra help themselves.
ReplyDeleteDespite all that commotion, you sure do look mighty fine, Truffle.

Pretty girl! Stay safe and quiet. We are wishing a nice quiet weekend and 4th celebrations for you. It is legal here in Connecticat to blow off those awful noise makers until 10PM. It's not a cellybration its inconsiderashun. Pftttttt. The new kittens, T&T are not scared of noises yet.
ReplyDeletePoor Truffle. Those fireworks should be left to the professionals, not to the general public just shooting them off at all hours. :(
ReplyDeleteBeautiful selfie. Sorry about the loud bangs :(
ReplyDeleteWe have the same thing here. It wasn't too bad last night, there was one large boom. But we know it's gonna get worse.
ReplyDeleteNeighbors have been shooting off fireworks the last couple of nights. Tonight Marcus is glued to Jan's feet. He actually wanted to be in Jan's lap but he's a bit big and heavy.
ReplyDeleteWe feel for you. We havent had anny fireworks here, but there are to neighbors who usuakly set them off soon. We settle unner the bed.
ReplyDeleteWe just has out first firecracker! The kitties are not afraid of them, but Angel started running toward the noise and growling. She wanted to protect the house!
ReplyDeleteWe have an ordinance banning fireworks in the city, but you'd never know it!! Holy cow, some people have a veritable ARSENAL that they set off on the 4th DESPITE the fact that we have a public fireworks display that is free (and safe). I always worry about the animals (domesticated and otherwise) and military veterans; it cannot be fun for them.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you had to hear those nasty fireworks.
ReplyDeleteWe have the same problem here in England. Fireworks are available for the general public to buy and it's horrible. The worst of it for us is during November (Guy Fawkes's Night is celebrated on the 5th).
Purrs xx

Poor Truffle! You look very beautiful in your selfie though despite your sojourn under the bed!
ReplyDeletethe critters in the cottage xo
We are in Michigan like the Island Cats (we live about a half hour away from them), and ours start at Memorial Day and continue. I think most cities in the U.S. allow them, doesn't matter where you live. Cody isn't bothered by them, but Dakota can't stand them. We crank our TV up super, super loud to help drown them out. I wish they would be banned everywhere except public displays.
ReplyDeletePoor Truffle...fireworks are..beep...Pawkisses for a happy and safe day🌞❤
ReplyDeleteTruffle, your eyes are definitely big and wide here. You are a super gorgeous lady. It is raining here so fireworks may be a bust. Neighbors have been setting them off for several days in our neighborhood. Very loud. Thanks for hopping. ReplyDeleteFireworks are not brilliant when mixed with ordinary people. Leave it to experts!
