2018 Cat Blogging Calendar - Deadline for Photos Extended

We wanted to take a moment to talk about the 5th annual Cat Blogging Calendar. We've received many photos, but there is still room for more. We also have some new and exciting additions to the calendar this year and will post this information soon (choice of calendar cover, opportunities for 1-page article submissions, and others). We've extended the deadline for photos to August 15, 2017.

If you have a blog and a cat (or several cats) is featured on the blog, you may submit photos for possible inclusion in the calendar.

It's that time again!  We’re excited to announce that we’re designing the Blogging Cats Weekly Planner Calendar again for 2018. The spiral bound 2015, 2016, and 2017 calendars were a huge success and everyone was pleased with the quality, so we're moving forward with another one for 2018. The planner will be an 8 x 10 spiral-bound, weekly planner, with full-color photos on one page and the week in view on the facing page. We're including special holidays, events in the blogging world, and other cat holidays in the calendars this year.  There are also plans to include some helpful advice health information on cats in the calendar this year, so we may be asking for 12 volunteers to be authors for a 1-page article on a special topic in the calendar.

Our 2017 collage
Each blog may submit three to seven photos, which can include one of each of your cats or group photos of multiple cats. If you have one or two kitties, find the best 3-7 photos and send them to us. We will use the photos in the order they are received to set up a collage of your blog for a week. This format would allow for approximately 54 blogs.

All photos should be “natural” photos of your kitties in their environment and not “PhotoShopped”. We want this calendar to show the beauty of the blogging cats in their natural environment. The photos MUST be clear, bright, and focused in order to print well. If photos aren't of high quality, an email will be sent asking for additional photos. The photos should be in a variety of  orientations (portrait, landscape, and square). If you would like to design your own collage and send that to us, please make sure the collage is in portrait mode and measures 8" x 10" at 300 dpi. If you choose to design your own collage, please follow the design of the sample collage below (colored space between the photos). Please remove any watermarks or names from the photos prior to submitting. Your blog name and URL address will be included on the page and there will be a statement on the title page that acknowledges that the photos are the property of the individuals.

Our 2016 collage

Please send your photos to us by midnight, August 15, 2017. We’d like to have the calendar completed by the end of September, so we can submit the order to the publisher in time for people to purchase for the holidays. Please send pictures of your cats to us at sweetpurrfections@sc.rr.com.  Make sure you include the phrase “2018 Blogging Cats Calendar” in the subject line

Important Information to include in the email:
  1. Send up to 7 photos
  2. Provide the names of the of the kitty(ies) in the photo. Ideally, the name of the file would be the name of the cat(s).
  3. Name of blog
  4. Blog address
  5. Name of human behind the blog

Here's a sample of what a page in the calendar may look like.

We also encourage our blogging friends to include photos of cats who've gone to the Bridge.  We've featured Sweet Praline in the past to honor her memory.

    1. I think it's because I asked for photos during the summer. I have a lot coming in now. I'll keep asking until we get enough and start earlier next year!
