Brulee looks on in disbelief at the antics some of these crazy felines did |
This particular book is filled with 101 short stories about the crazy antics of felines. Mom Paula loves these type of books because she can read a few short stories before going to bed and finish the story before falling asleep. There are humorous stories as well as amazing stories of heroic stories of cats. Some will bring tears to your eyes (both sadness and laughter), but all are enjoyable. One of Mom Paula's favorite stories was about Chuck, in the story, "Unforgiven." Chuck was a rescue cat who had been returned to the shelter several times until a couple adopted him and saved his life. The couple decided to go on vacation for the first time after making sure Chuck was okay. They said every where they went, they saw something that reminded them of Chuck. Upon returning with a gift in hand for Chuck, he basically ignored them and showed them what he thought of their gift.

There are cartoons throughout the book and each short story begins with a motivational quote. I look forward to reading other books in the series.
You can purchase this book, along with others in the series at Chewy.com expensively ($8.00 up). Ideally, I'd purchase it when you purchase other supplies, such as cat litter, food, etc., in order to receive the free 2-day shipping if the order totals $49+.

ReplyDeleteIt's so refreshing to read positive stories about cats and other pets instead of sad tales of neglect. Reading a few just before bed is a great way to fall asleep with a smile on your face.

ReplyDeleteI'd probably like "Loving Our Dogs" the best. I like short story collections because it is easy to read a little bit and then do something else. Sometimes I get so engrossed with a novel, that I can't put it down.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun giveaway. I love books. Hmm I like " What I learned from the Cat". So sweet you read to your girls at night. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Chicken Soup books are such a staple of goodness. And I completely agree about how beneficial short reads are. Sometimes I read shorter pieces after reading a book that I know will stay with me for a while. I use those short stories as a mental palette cleanse.
