It's cold here in SC (we know it's even colder for our friends in the Midwest and Northeast) but we're not use to the colder temperatures. We've stayed close to Mom Paula this weekend, trying to stay warm. We have lots of extra cover near us to help keep Mom Paula warm.

We can't lie to our friends - Mom Paula eats out of paper plates! She has fine china and tableware, but she doesn't like to do the dishes. However, we fancy Persian kitties only eat from the best and Mom Paula wouldn't dare feed us from paper plates. It's the holiday season, so why not bring out the best plates and bowls to eat that holiday turkey!

Mom Paula loves to find fancy bowls for us to eat our delicious and nutritious cat food.

Thankful Thursday

We want to thank everyone for visiting us during our 12 Days of Catmas holiday celebration! The last major holiday item was shared yesterday, but we do have several more items to share with you over the next few days. In the meantime, Truffle and Brulee are keeping a watch for Santa Claus.

It's the holiday season and we know many of our cat-owners (and other pets) travel for the holidays. We know there is a lot involved in preparing for travel with a pet in cars, so we can't imagine what is needed for airline travel. Cats are obligate carnivores and therefore, need to eat a species appropriate diet that helps them meet their nutritional needs through eating food with a large amount of animal-based proteins (meat and organs). Cats lack specific metabolic (enzymatic) pathways and can't ultilize plant proteins as efficiently as animal proteins. A cat's nutritional needs are different from those of dogs and humans who can live on a vegetarian diet (we don't recommend this for dogs). A cat should never be fed a vegetarian or vegan diet. Cats need specific vitamins, minerals, and proteins that only come from meat.

Today didn't start out like a normal Saturday. Mom Paula woke up earlier than usual and surprised both of us by putting us in our Sleepypod® Mobile Pet Bed and off to the vet we went.
