We were amazed to realize on this day in January 2012, Truffle was going to get her bloodwork done at the vet in preparation for her "lady gardenectomy" (spayed) in a few days.

Thankful Thursday

Brulee is thankful that Mom Paula left the suitcase out because she has found a new bed that is so comfortable. We think she also believes as long as she is sleeping on it, Mom Paula won't go on any trips any time soon.

National Answer Your Cat's Questions Day

Truffle has a lot of questions for Mom Paula

Today is National Answer Your Cat's Questions Day. We shared some of the ways we communicate with our humans in a post during the 12 Days of Catmas holiday celebration and during one of our communication sessions with Coryelle Kramer. We definitely communicate through body language and our various meows. Today is set aside for our humans to try to be more aware of us on a deeper level and to try and notice when we are asking a question. Here are a few questions we have for Mom Paula.

We played around with a lot of stuff on LunaPic and PicMonkey this weekend to create our Caturday Art. We're calling it Silver and Gold. Besides the Christmas song "silver and gold" (we know you're already singing it), there is another reason for the title of this artwork.

Thankful Thursday

Since Mom Paula has retired, Brulee is slowly becoming a little "love bunny" and wants to be held. She still only wants to be held on her terms and only in the home office or in the master bedroom. Mom Paula doesn't care where it is because Brulee use to be a little standoffish. She is so soft to touch and when she's ready to be held, she melts into Mom Paula's arms.

We've heard a lot lately about the need to vary a cat's protein in their diet. In our early years, Mom Paula use to feed us what we called the "feather diet" because it was chicken, turkey, and duck.  We don't usually eat a lot of fish and we don't really like beef. Our problems comes when we want to order a case of food and it's always the same protein and it's too expensive to buy several cases. Luckily, for us, there is a variety pack of one of our favorite brands of cat food.

We had a few beautiful and warm (60s) this past week, but it turned cold again yesterday. Brulee paused a few minutes from enjoying the sunshine to pose for our Sunday Selfie today.

Which One is Real?

Mom Paula finally cleaned up the wrapping paper, plastic bags, and boxes from the guest room and opened the door. Can you guess where we spend the day now?

We don't know what it is about this room and this bed, but it's our favorite place to nap away the day. Can you find us among the stuffies?

Static Kitty

We know it's cold all up the East coast which means the heat is on in the house more. We don't think our heating unit has stopped for the last two weeks with this cold. The girls are hesitant taking treats from Mom Paula because they get a little "shock" from the static. Last night. Brulee jumped up on the suitcase and her fur was sticking straight out! It made her look twice as big as she is!

The photo isn't as clear as we usually like to share because of the low light in the bedroom, but her fur sticking out was too precious not to share.

Stay warm. It's supposed to get in the 60s and possibly 70s later this week for us.

Caturday Art

Brrrrr! It's cold here and we hope all of our friends to the North and Northwest of us are staying warm. Since almost the entire East coast appears to be suffering from snowfall this week, we decided to use the snow frame effect for our Caturday Art creation today.

New Pillow

Truffle has discovered her new kitty bed and it's Mom Paula's pillow.

Mom Paula has searched for a pillow that was firm and could support her neck since she's a side sleeper. She finally found these memory foam pillows online. When they arrived, she was amazed how much better her neck felt after a decent night's sleep. This morning, she woke up to see Truffle sleeping on the pillow beside her. We guess Truffle likes the way the foam memorizes her beautiful fluffiness.

We guess Mom Paula has lost one of her pillows. She only needs one anyway.  MOL!

World Hypnotism Day

We have another unique day to share with you today. It's World Hypnotism Day. If you've ever looked into the eyes of a cat, you know what it feels like to be relaxed and completely under their control. Truffle definitely has the most hypnotic eyes.

Drinking Straw Day

We have some interesting days to share with you this year. Not all of them deal with cats (or pets) directly, but we like to share things that are integrated into our daily lives. Today is Drinking Straw Day.

Can you imagine trying to drink a milk shake without a straw? Mom Paula likes to use a straw to drink from a glass because it helps her avoid chapped lips. Where did the drinking straw come from?

We know the humans celebrated New Year's Day yesterday, but today is a special day set aside for us cats. Happy Mew Year for Cats Day was created by Wellcat.com so cats could have their own little celebration for New Years. Of course, all of us kitties know everyday is Cat Day, but it's nice to have a special day set aside so the rest of the world can see how special we are and what they are missing.

Make sure you remind your human to give you extra special treats today!

Pawsitive Outlook for 2018

Happy New Year to all of our friends!

2017 has been a year of challenges for Mom Paula and us. Mom Paula had to retire earlier than she planned and had three surgeries on her eyes. Both Brulee and Truffle were sick this year, but they are doing fine now. We have a lot of decisions to make this year involving our future and we're not quite sure what the result will be.
