Sunday Selfie

This photo is of Brulee last night when Mom Paula came home from BlogPaws.
Brulee - Sunday Selfie - 4/22

For those who may not know, this was the first time ever that Brulee had to stay alone in the house without Mom Paula or Truffle. Mom Paula was already worried about leaving Truffle at the vet when she left for BlogPaws and then she realized Brulee was experience a quiet house.

Grandma Faye and the pet sitter, DJ, told Mom Paula that Brulee was social and would eat treats the first day Mom Paula left. We guess this was because Brulee's had Mom Paula be gone for long periods of time and not having Truffle around for a few hours may have been a relief.

However, the next couple of days, Brulee went into hiding. Mom Paula could never see her on the Pet Cube and the pet sitter said Brulee was always in her little box in the home office where Mom Paula spends much of her time when home. Brulee was a little resistant to being petted and wasn't eating much of her wet food.

Mom Paula was able to coax Brulee out of the back of the house after about 10-15 minutes by talking to her through the Pet Cube. She then began using the laser light on the Pet Cube and Brulee began playing and relaxed. Mom Paula was near Coryelle Kramer and showed her Brulee on the camera and Coryelle talked to Brulee. DJ later told Mom Paula that Brulee was playful and actually let her pet her and brush her a little bit.

Mom Paula got home late last night and Brulee stayed right with her all night. This morning, Brulee began meowing and trying to wake Mom Paula up at 7:00 a.m., which is very unusual. When Mom Paula woke up, Brulee immediately climbed into her lap and began purring. Once Mom Paula got out of bed and went to the computer, Brulee came in and wanted to be picked up. She immediately turned on her purr motor and settled into Mom Paula's arms. After a couple of minutes, Brulee even rested her head on Mom Paula's arm.

Brulee appears more relaxed now that Mom Paula is home. After some adjustment tomorrow, we hope things will be back to normal when Truffle comes home.
