Truffle to Vet
Just a quick post and we'll provide more details tomorrow. Truffle went back to the vet for a 1-month follow up from her recent bladder surgery and subsequent infection.
Truffle was scheduled to go back to her vet today at Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital to see Dr. Boyette.

Caturday Art
For our Caturday Art creation we used the Watercolor effect because it had the colors of red, white, and blue to help us recognize Memorial Day on Monday.
We also went to PicMonkey to recolor the eyes and add our watermark and resize the photo for the blog.

More Than a Treat - #ChewyInfluencer
We continue talking about the challenges of getting Truffle to eat her prescription food because of her bladder stones. It's been seven (7) weeks since her diagnosis and surgery and she's getting a little better each day. We are also working with Brulee eating the prescription food because she showed a little variance in her ph balance at her wellness checkup. What are some of the things we've done to help them adjust to a new diet?
The vet was very specific that Truffle needed to change her diet for the rest of her life to a prescription diet. We've had a couple of different opinions from different vets about what she needs to eat. For the first month after Truffle's surgery and subsequent infection, she's wasn't eating much of anything - not even her regular food.

Caturday Art
For today's Caturday Art creation, we used the Color Sketch effect in LunaPic for Truffle.
We love how these sketches pick up the grays in Truffle's fur when it is colorized.

Eating in Comfort and Style
Mom Paula always tries to feed us a high quality food that is high in protein and low in grains. As many of you know, Truffle recently had two Struvite Stones removed from her bladder. Because of the type of stones that were identified, she needs to be on a special diet to keep her urine at the appropriate ph level. We're going to post a series on bladder stones in the near future to help you understand.
It's been a challenge finding a prescription food that Truffle will eat. There are times Mom Paula wants to give in and give Truffle her normal food so she'll eat it, but the consequences could be additional bladder stones which may cause surgery again.

Comfort Away From Home
Have you ever gone on a road trip with your cat and stayed in a hotel? We haven't yet, but we have some wonderful cat blogging friends who brought their cats on their first road trip and stayed in a hotel at the recent BlogPaws conference. We reached out to them for tips and to share their experiences.

Celebrating our 2500th Post
We're a little late posting this because we were working on an informative post about cats at the BlogPaws conference, but we wanted to celebrate our 2500th blog post today! This July will be our 7th blogoversary and we've blogged every single day. We are in the process of rebranding our blog and this will involve some changes in our posting schedule and content. We promise we'll still share photos and stories of our everyday lives, but in a new and different way. Thank you for supporting us!

Caturday Art
Brulee was trying to rest behind Mom Paula's head on the back of the chair when Mom Paula snapped this photo. We've used the "floating" effect in LunaPic to create our Caturday Art creation today.
We sometimes think these photos make Brulee look mean because of her Persian scowl and her fur horns, but she is the funniest and sweetest little Persian.

Truffle Tuesday
Truffle wanted to share a photo with everyone to show that she has some wild fur that blows in the wind just like Brulee.
Truffle is doing much better. She is beginning to eat some of her prescription food (as long as Mom Paula sprinkles some freeze-dried chicken treats on top). The swelling appears to be gone from her incision. Mom Paula did feel a stitch this week and has a call into the vet to make sure this is okay since this is the first time she's felt a stitch. Last night was the first time Truffle played with her nip nanner since before the surgery and she and Brulee and chasing each other down the hallway now. Looks like we are on the road to recovery.

A Different Experience - BlogPaws 2018 #sponsored
This summer will mark the 10th anniversary of blogging with my cats. Little did I know, BlogPaws® was celebrating its 10th anniversary this year at the conference in Kansas City, MO. This was my fourth year attending the BlogPaws conference and I'd been excited since the announcement last Summer. However, this year, the BlogPaws conference was a different experience for me.

Thankful Thursday
We're a little late posting today, but we wanted to let everyone know that Truffle is getting better each day.
We're still trying to find a prescription wet food that she will eat and ordered a case of a different texture of the Royal Canin OC with gravy from Chewy.com since the girls have eaten the wet RC food in the past. We're still experimenting with other RC, Hill's and Purina prescription wet foods and textures. She's been eating some of the Royal Canin OC dry kibble, but not very much. The vet gave us a sample of the Hill's Prescription Diet c/d Multicare Urinary Care with Chicken Dry Cat Food and both of the girls appear to like it.

Going on a Road Trip with Your Cat
The only road trip we've been on lately is to the vet, which we hope we don't need to do again any time soon. However, now that Mom Paula is retired, she wants to work with us on harness/leash training and traveling with her on future trips.
Since we haven't been on any road trips of any distance, we've reached out to one of our cat blogging friends, Jeanne, from Random Feline for tips and experiences when traveling on the road with cats.
