Happy Birthday Brulee

It's hard to believe 7 years have passed, but today is Brulee's 7th Birthday!

I remember still being in shock on the day Brulee was born.


We'd just lost Beignet (Truffle's brother) to a sarcoma a few days earlier and I wasn't sure I still wanted a second kitten. Terri was so patient with me because she knew I wanted two kittens after I'd lost Praline 4 months earlier. Brulee was born to the beautiful Golden Shaded Persian, Mikayla, on August 27, 2011.

Mikayla is a beautiful Golden Shaded Persian and this was her first litter. Brulee has the same daddy cat as Truffle, Jayden, who is a Silver Shaded Persian. Brulee was born second and was one of 3 females and 1 male.  Here is a picture of Brulee with her littermates when they were 1-days old (one of the kittens is hidden under Mikayla.

I didn't make my decision until October 9, 2011 on which kitten would come to live with us. Brulee was already six weeks old when I visited Terri to meet the litter of kittens. I shared the story of how Brulee chose me last month on Creme Brulee Day. I've never regretted that decision (even though it took me a while to make it) and Brulee brightens my days all the time with her antics and quirky personality.

Brulee has been a challenge the last few years with her Upper Respiratory Infections (URI) and her recent reactions to her vaccination. I will honestly say that every penny ($$$$) I've spent on her is well worth it. She has that little sassy Persian personality. She loves to lie down around the house looking beautiful and being pampered. She doesn't really like to play like Truffle does, especially with Truffle. I wish I could capture a video of her running down the hallway with her beautiful fur flowing when she decides to play. She has a grace with her walk that shows she knows she is something to admire. She can be stubborn! She doesn't like to be groomed (a must with her cottony-soft fur), is a finicky eater, and only wants to cuddle on her own terms. She is my beautiful Crystalpurrs Creme Brulee.
