National Pet Parents Day

It's National Pet Parents Day and the time to share with the world how wonderful it is to be a "pet parent."

Mom Paula and Brulee

We've read on social media where people say "it's just a cat" and feel pets are property (unfortunately, so does the government). These people don't know what it's like to truly be loved by a furry companion.

This day is the perfect day to follow National Kids and Pets Day that we posted about a couple of days ago. Pets bring calmness, love, compassion, and joy in our lives. There is a lot of responsibility in being a pet parent just like being a parent to a human. Pets are only with us for a short part of our lives, but they forever touch our soul!

I value the 50+ years I've been a pet parent and wouldn't trade any of those years, even the tough ones.

  1. You make one of the very best pet parents, too, Miss Paula. And I know Truffle and Brûlée would agree pawz up! Someday I hope all humans will come to realize someday that pets have feelings and we understand so much more than they give us credit for. We are also the answer to humans' well being. Kisses.

  6. Many politicians say that pets can not feel pain, how wrong they are and clearly they themselves have no soul or compassion or feeling. True love comes from being a parent and having a furry companion by ones side. Happy Companion Parent Day to you and yours

  7. Don't get me started on governments and pets. After what is happening in Australia I will never go there again unless its a stop off point to somewhere much nicer.

Happy Pet Parents Day we ALL need a Persian in our lives! Truffle, Brûlée? A visit to NZ?????

  8. One of the best parts about working the Pet Expo this weekend was being among all those people who get us kitties, and love us like family!

  9. People assume that cats don't love or need us - and don't care that we're around. I got angry enough to write a post about it. I've noticed that with pets, you largely get what you put into it.
