Take Your Cat to Work Day®

It's Take Your Cat to Work Day® and we're proud to say that we help Mom Paula get her work done each day!

Pet Sitters International (PSI) designated the first Monday after Father's Day at Take Your Cat to Work Day®.

This day kicks off the Take Your Pets to Work Week® before all of the dogs show up on Friday.

We know many people don't have the ability to take their cats to work, either because of company policy or their cats aren't comfortable leaving their home environment.

Mom Paula: I always hated leaving my girls when I had to go to work. Seeing their faces look at me as I walked out the door almost tore out my heart. I always looked forward to coming home and walking through the door to be greeted by two beautiful Silver Shaded Persian Cats with hugs green eyes with their tails held high.

I'm lucky now that I am retired and am a pet influencer/blogger fulltime that I get to work with the girls every day! Some days are more challenging than others, but the girls always make the days more interesting, entertaining, and less stressful.

There are a few things you need to be prepared for when working at home with your cats:

  • Be prepared to be interrupted several times a day to give your cats treats, pets, and food.
  • Be prepared to have pens and other paraphernalia pushed off the desk.
  • Be prepared to have a cat sit right in front of your computer monitor and block your view.
  • Be prepared for a cat to lie down on top of your papers and calendar.
  • Be prepared for a cat to walk across your keyboard and type her own special email or blog post.
  • Be prepared for a cat to dial someone on your cell phone (happened to me last week).
  • Be prepared to have cameras and your cell phone in every room so you can capture that moment the cats are doing something unique (of course they usually stop when you pick up the camera).
  • Be prepared to take a "potty" break and come back to find one or more cats in your office chair.
  • Be prepared to take an afternoon nap with your cats peacefully resting beside you.
  • Be prepared to have the company of a trusty furry companion beside you won't judge you and will accept you for the wonderful person you are.
  • Be prepared to smile and laugh each day as you watch the antics of your furry office mates!

Did you have a great work day with your cats today?

Would you like to comment?

  1. Since my human works for me, it's more like Take Your Human to Work day around here!

  2. That really is a most purrfect working environment!!!

  3. I wish my full time job was my blog so I could work at home with my girls every day. I commute way too much to be able to bring either with me.

  4. I agree wholeheartedly with your statements about working at home with cats. They are coworkers that do require attention throughout the day. It is pawsome having them around to snoopervise everything and make sure it is done right.

  5. I love it when I can stay home with my furballs. But they are a challenge to get work done around
