Hauspanther NestEgg Raised Bed & Side Table
I originally saw the Hauspanther NestEgg at Global Pet Expo in 2018 and in emails from Kate Benjamin (owner of Hauspanther). What drew me to the NestEgg was the clear bowl in the middle of the side table. I remember when my cats were smaller how much they enjoyed sleeping in the sink and thought this would be a great idea for cats. Kate has shared photos of her wonderful cats inside the bowl. The NestEgg is a unique raised cat bed with a clear plastic lounge pod that stimulates the feeling of a sink. The side table features a sleek mid-century modern look with hairpin legs and doubles as a side table, so your cat can lounge close by. The NestEgg is available in a black or white table top.

The NestEgg was designed to create the same feeling cats get when they sit in sinks. It also meets the needs of cats who are more tree dwellers because the furniture is 16" off the ground. The NestEgg can accommodate numerous functions including toy storage, cat grass planter, beverage server, ice bucket, or candy dish!
Our Review
The NestEgg was extremely easy to put together and took less than 30 minutes. Truffle and Brulee were very curious about the table, but didn't jump onto it like I expected. I tempted them with treats on the table in inside the pod. They tried to get to the treats in the pod, but couldn't figure out that they needed to jump on the table to get inside the pod. I even placed them on the table, but they immediately jumped off. I don't know if it was the texture of the table top or that the pod threw off their vision. I've had the table in the living room for about 3 weeks and the girls are still showing no interest in getting on the table or inside the pod.

However, I've decided to use the NestEgg as a place to put their toys (so they will be out of the way) temporarily and as a table where visitors can place their drinks. I had a friend visit recently and she looked at the NestEgg and made the comment, "I love that! Where can I get one?" Cindy doesn't even own a cat, but loved the design of the table and wanted one for her home. The NestEgg is a beautiful piece of furniture. Hauspanther even recommended the pod could be filled with ice and used as a beverage holder when there are guests. Even though my cats aren't using it like I expected, it is a great addition to my home that definitely has a function. Everyone knows that I'll probably turn around one day and one of my cats will be sleeping in the pod!!!

While this isn't really the style we have in our almost 100-year-old house, my human LOVES the idea of using the middle for chilled splits of champagne for a party! So I just had to enter.
ReplyDeleteP.S. My preferred sleeping spot is by the leaded glass doors to the back patio, so I can watch the birds and squirrels.
I've had new furniture that took months for the cats to finally 'approve', then I couldn't get them off of it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool bed! Lexy would LOVE this!
ReplyDeleteLuna Belle, like most distinguished felines, prefers to sleep wherever she pleases lol.
ReplyDeleteI can't enter, but I love that table. It might work for coraling all the cat toys all over the floor. Will check it out for sure....
ReplyDeleteMaybe they are testing out the pod late at nighttime when you are sound asleep, Miss Paula. If they aren't using it yet, though, I bet they will soon. Purrs.
