Today is the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel - also known as Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss was the pen name he used to author children's books. During the 1990, the National Education Association, (NEA) advocated for a day to celebrate reading across the United States and in 1998, the NEA began Read Across America and chose to hold it on the same day as Dr. Seuss' birthday.
Mom Paula grew up on Dr. Suess books and her favorites were The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham. Once she became an adult and an educator, she always recommended Oh, The Places You'll Go! Dr. Seuss books had the fun of the characters along with poetic rhyme to encourage children to read.
Today, the Cat Blogosphere is celebrating Dr. Seuss with a blog hop at the Comedy Plus website. We encourage everyone to share their favorite books, illustrations, poetry, and graphics by joining the blog hop.
We made up a cute little Dr. Seuss-type poem back in 2013 and we continue to use it because it's one of our favorites and Mom Paula isn't too creative with poetry. Have fun today!
The irony is that Mom Paula will be on the road again this week and we'll be taken care of by the sitter. What is it with the first week in March and Mom Paula traveling?
We are honored to help host the blog hop along with Brian’s Home, Comedy Plus and Zoolatry.
