There will always be a need to transport your cat, whether it's to carry it to the veterinarian or to travel on road trips. There are so many different types of carriers: hard-sided, soft-sided, backpack, travel bed, and others. The type of carrier you use when traveling with your cat depends on how you are traveling, your needs, and your cat's comfort.
Lil-Paws reached out to us about reviewing their 5-in-1 Premium Cat Carrier. I was happy to receive this product because we believe in sharing items to our readers that may help make their daily lives with their cats a little better.

Truffle enjoys resting inside the Lil-Paws Pet Carrier |
Truffle climbed into the carrier as soon as I took it out of the box and opened up and placed the fleece pads inside, so it was definitely Persian approved!
The carrier appears to be very sturdy and well made. I knew there wouldn't be a problem with the carrier supporting both Truffle or Brulee because they each weigh a little over 8 pounds.
When traveling with my girls, I can secure this carrier in the car with the built-in seatbelt loops. This is an important feature to consider with purchasing a cat carrier because we want our pets to be safe when traveling.

I liked the idea of this carrier also being used as a backpack. I doubt I'd be able to use it as such because I've had surgery in both of my shoulders and have a slipped disc in my back which would make it difficult to get the straps over both of my shoulders. I also prefer seeing my cats when I take them out in the carrier. However, this feature would be very handy if there was an emergency and I needed both hands free.
I did place Truffle in the carrier in the "backpack mode" and she was okay with it. I'm not sure how she would like it if I tried to "swing" it onto my back. I imagine there are many people who have adventure cats who would love this feature.
I've left the carrier out in my living room (as I always do with their cat carriers) and Truffle tends to take evening naps inside while I'm watching TV. I've left the side and end openings open and she likes to spread out where she doesn't feel trapped but does have a cover over her. Brulee hasn't ventured inside the carrier yet so I can't respond to how she'd react.
I was very interested in the anti-anxiety cover because many cats are stressed when placed into a carrier. I was a little disappointed that it was made from plastic and it make a crackling noise when handled. The reason for my concern is that a cat who is already stressed or anxious may become startled by the sound, which would make him more stressed. My recommendation to the manufacturer would be to replace the plastic with a more porous soft cloth material which would be quiet and allow cats to breath easier.

Very cool! I usually skip entering the more cat focused giveaways since I don't have any cats, but this looks like it would be great for small dogs too.
ReplyDeleteThis carrier would be ideal for dogs under 18 pounds
DeleteThat does look like a nice one and we agree on the anti-anxiety cover.
ReplyDeleteThese carriers look so cozy. I'm curious whether your kitties use it only when travelling or also as a den when at home?
ReplyDeleteI remember, when I used to walk Jasmine, we often joined a lady with a Spaniel and a parrot. She carried the parrot in a similar type of a carrier and took it for walks.
I leave their carriers out all the time so they do rest in them as well as traveling in them.
DeleteThat is a nice carrier. I like that you can put it on your shoulder as I sometimes have 3 carriers to deal with when going to the vet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great review you kitties.
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite feature of the carrier is the anti anxiety covering. Daisy Mae isn't a traveler therefor this would be perfect for her. She needs a carrier like this
Hope I Win
That sure looke like a great carrier! We love that Truffle walked right in. :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks really awesome and handy!
ReplyDeleteI like that it can be made into a backpack. That could come in handy in an emergency.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great product. Good luck to those who enter the giveaway! I don't live in the US, but I'm definitely going to search out this carrier and see if I can get it here. We need to replace one of our carriers, so this might just be the perfect solution. I love that there are so many safety features incorporated into it.
ReplyDeleteThis carrier is sold on Amazon, so perhaps you can get it
DeleteI like the overall design and functionality of the soft carrier. However, like you, I was disappointed to read that the anxiety cover is made of plastic for the same reasons. That may be something they can adjust in their product down the line. Good luck to the participants! I'll have to pin this post for the cat moms!
ReplyDeleteThis company is very open to recommendations on their products
DeleteBeautiful carrier! It looks very durable and safe which is so important. I love how Truffle liked it so much she just climbed right inside & made herself at home! Great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteLove & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
I like the anti-scratch mesh. It would make me feel much more secure when a panicked cat tries to dig a way out.
ReplyDeleteI love that it is rainproof which is so important
ReplyDeleteI like the mesh side window so the cat does not feel cramped and closed in. Things like that matter when you transport a nervous cat..
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing carrier - it looks roomy and the fact that it has mesh windows will allow a pet to feel much more comfortable. I'll share the giveaway with our readers!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a nice affordable option. I'd love to get something similar for my dog. Do you know if it passed car crash testing like some of the other carriers?
ReplyDeleteI don't believe it's been tested in car crash testing.
DeleteMy favorite feature is that it also works as a backpack. This is so important to free up your arms when traveling with your pet.
ReplyDeleteThe backpack feature on this would be great since I often take both boys to the vet at the same time. It would be easy to put one on my back and carry the other. :)
ReplyDeleteI like that it works as a backpack because my oldest dog has degenerative disc disease so this would be great to carry her when out and about. I also like that the sides fold down
ReplyDeleteI like that it works as a backpack because my oldest dog has degenerative disc disease so this would be great to carry her when out and about. I also like that the sides fold down
ReplyDeleteI like that the carrier has so much area the cat can see out of. My cat loves to watch what's going on around her. At home it's bird or squirrel TV from the window in the TV room. In the car it's watching everything going by as we drive.
ReplyDeleteI love how it opens up in more than one area.
ReplyDeleteI like that i can toss it in the washing machine to clean.my cats make a mess on road trips knocking food and water over constantly.
ReplyDeleteI like that it is both comfortable for the cats and that the pads are machine washable makes it easy to clean!
ReplyDeletebeing able to carry the carrier multiple ways is cool when carrying heavy cats and also makes it a change of scenery for the cats.
ReplyDeleteThe backpack mode feature for my back.
