Catit® Vesper® Double Cat Tree

Cats need places in their environment where they can hide, climb high, and scratch. Imagine if you could find a piece of cat furniture that provides the materials to meet all of your cat's needs.

Disclosure - received the Catit Vesper Double in exchange for our honest review. Cat is not responsible for what we say.

We've review Catit® products (including the Vesper® furniture) in the past and are always impressed with the quality, functionality,. and look of this furniture. What makes it even better is that my cats, Truffle and Brulee love the furniture. When Catit reached out to us about reviewing the Vesper Double, we immediately said yes!

The Vesper Double box is pretty heavy, so you need to have some strong muscles or push it across the floor like Mom Paula did. All of the pieces of the Vesper Double are labeled and a pictorial instruction sheet is provided. Everything you need to assemble the Vesper Double is included, including the tool for attaching the screws. Mom Paula chose to use her small battery operated drill because it was a little easier with her arthritic fingers.

About the Vesper® Double

The Vesper Double is a combination lounge and play tower designed for multiple cats. The Vesper Double has an extra-long and a smaller seagrass scratching post. There are two cozy cubed dens with two entrances to each den. The dens have sisal scratching mats on top and include memory foam cushions inside. The top of the Vesper Double is longer and includes a memory foam cushion. Having two dens provides a safe hideaway for more than one cat to nap. The height of the Vesper double allows cats to stretch while scratching and jump each level to the top. All of these designs meet the needs of your cat. The twin cozy cubed dens have two entrances which help your cat not feel trapped or cornered should another cat approach.

The memory foam cushions mold exactly to the body shape of your cat and provide extra comfort. Both Truffle and Brulee love the memory foam cushions on our other Vesper furniture. The cushions and scratching mats can easily be removed for cleaning (hand-washable). Replacement parts are available in case any part of your scratcher gets worn out.

The Vesper Double retails for $179.99 and can be purchased on the Catit website as well as other pet specialty locations (physical and online). All orders over $40.00 include free standard ground shipping within the Contiguous US.

Our Review

As I said earlier, the box was too heavy for me to pick up. I had to gently push it into the room where I was going to assemble the Vesper Double. I carefully took out all of the pieces and matched them up to the instruction sheet. Once I knew I had everything, I begin the task of assembling it. The box does include a tool that you can use on the various screws, but I have arthritis in my hands, so I use a small battery-operated drill with the appropriate bits. I thought it would be easy to put the Vesper Double together because I'd put two other Vesper pieces of furniture together that included a den. I thought I had everything put together, but I knew something wasn't right and I couldn't figure it out using the picture instructions. So I went to the Catit website and watched a video on how to put the Vesper Double together and realized what I'd done incorrectly. Once I realized my error, I disassembled the Vesper Double and put it back together with no problem. I do recommend that you should have two people working on putting the Vesper Double together. I'm only 4'11" and have back issues, so it took me a little longer to work on assembly with my limitations.

I temporarily pushed the Vesper Double against my fireplace beside some other Vesper Furniture to help my cats become accustomed to getting down from the top. I do this with all the cat trees in my home because of the depth perception of my flat-faced Persian cats. I will eventually place this piece of furniture in my office when I rearrange everything and catify the office for my cats.

It didn't take long for Brulee to claim the Vesper Double. Within minutes she was exploring both dens and the second level. She hasn't jumped to the top yet, but I'm sure she will eventually because the Vesper Double is similar to the Vesper High Base I have in the bedroom. Brulee loves resting on all levels of the Vesper High Base.

I highly recommend watching the video while looking at the pictorial assembly instructions prior to putting the Vesper Double together.

I have no negative comments to say about the Vesper Double because it's sturdy, attractive, and my cats use it!

  1. That looks like a cool cat tree! My human had to watch a video of my Pirate Cat Ship being assembled before she could do it herself. So that is nothing new here, MOL!

  10. We have several trees for our very large furry family. But I’m renovating my front room into my office. Maybe if we had a vesper double out there Plush and Treeno would hang out up there to watch outside instead of sitting on my desk.

  11. My cats don't have a formal "cat tree". They have a few shelves they use as makeshift trees. They'd love one of these. What cat wouldn't?
